Doctor Pooya Bokhoor is everything I could ask for in a cardiac surgeon and more... Unplanned and unexpected I ended up in the emergency room at UCLA Santa Monica Hospital. I was having a heart attack. I could do nothing but surrender to my situation. As I lay on the gurney frightened and confused Doctor Pooya Bokhoor, my surgeon, began explaining my situation and what my surgery would consist of. Immediately he made me feel comfortable and confident that everything was going to be okay. I feel so fortunate, lucky and blessed that Doctor Pooya Bokhoor was my cardiologist on that day. Due to Doctor Bokhoor’s knowledge, diligence and skill, he save my life. An unexpected bonus was the after care when I got to spend some time speaking with Doctor Bokhoor about my future and our plan to get me 100% better. Each visit with him is like visiting a friend who considers my well being his primary goal. Answering all my questions, making suggestions to speed my healing and ordering test… in order to track my recuperation. Thank you doctor Bokhoor. What more can I say than Dr Bakhoor saved my life. He is not only an excellent surgeon, but I've never visited any doctor in my 72 years who has a better bedside manner than Dr Bakhoor.

Dr. Pooya Bokhoor has my highest rating. He saved my life. After appointments with several doctors and having several test, I had an appointment with Dr. Bokhoor. He said that even though all my test were negative his intuition indicated that I had a problem. The angiogram he did revealed my artery block was life threatening. I was sent by ambulance to UCLA Westwood for bypass surgery. Dr Bokhoor actively communicated with my primary and secured an excellent surgeon for me. Dr Bokhoor has been encouraging and caring. He takes time to explain and re-explain information. He seemed to recognize that initially after my surgery, I was still in shock. His development of a concrete recovery plan has been helpful and continues to give me hope. I have already recommended him to a family member.

Dr. Pooya Bokhoor was my first cardiologist who walked me through prognosis, procedure, recovery and follow up for aortic heart valve replacement. From onset to present I feel extremely blessed to have been referred to his care. I found his professionalism, genuine caring nature and personal attention to be assuring, comforting and outright enlightenment, especially given the seriousness of open heart surgery. Pooya is well beyond the 5 Star Rating system. He is a dedicated medical professional devoted to his patients and I am ever so grateful I am one of them.

Dr. Bokkor not only saved my life — literally — but in the two years since, provided me with the support and framework to recover on my own terms. Dr. Bokhoor deserves not 5 but 10 stars. So far I have visited him twice, and he's beyond EXCELLENT. Due to health issues during the last 5 months I have visited different doctors, no one like Dr. Bokhoor. I wish he was my primary doctor. He did not rush me as some doctors do. In the contrary, he slowed me down to get to know better my symptoms and reason for my visit. He has taken the time to make sure my heart is good conditions as well as other health issues. Don't mean to put my primary doctor down, but he went the extra mile to provide great advice how to fix and lower my blood level. He was the first one to tell me I was pre-diabetic. Not that I'm his favorite patient, because I have overheard him deliver same quality of service to his other patients. My co-payment is so well worth it!
