Dr. Porcha Simmons

Porcha Simmons is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with years of mental health counseling experience. She is passionate about helping children, adolescents and young adults navigate life’s stresses including school and transitioning into young adulthood. Porcha specializes in child and adolescent therapy, adjustment struggles, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem-related problems, and relationship issues (romantic, peer, or familial). Porcha completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Piedmont College and earned his Master's degree in Social Work at the University of Georgia. She utilizes talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), expressive and art therapies (ET, ART), and play therapy (PT) techniques. Porcha understands how hard it is to open up to someone new and knows what a big step it is to be willing to receive therapy. This understanding helps her create a pace based on each individual client to help them become comfortable with the process. Porcha believes …in developing rapport with clients to create safe, comfortable spaces and nonjudgmental environments. She also believes in meeting the client where they are and allowing the client to lead the session.
