Prabhakara Kunamneni, MD

I was referred to Dr. Kunamneni by a nurse in the ER at Advent Health in Tavares. I got an appointment 2 days later because I couldn't see my cardiologist at the VA. I took my medical history to bring him up to date since he had never seen me before. I had gone to the ER because my heart was in Tachycardia at 120 bpm. They brought down my heart rate, but it was back up to 120 by the time I saw him. This was the reading of the EKG in his office. He just blew it off, did not hospitalize me perscibed a different medication that I was on, which I questioned him about, and that was on my list of meds that I was allergic to, and sent me home and said see me in 2 weeks. I did not take the medication and checked myself into the hospital the next morning. What was even more frightening is that he was the cardiologist on duty the next day in the hospital. I refused to see him.

He may be a gifted physician, but it is difficult to get past his childish behavior. He was rude, condescending and actually reprimanded me for taking notes! He wanted me to listen to everything he said first and then write notes. At my age, I need to write things down as I hear them or I'll forget. I recently moved to the area and will be looking for a different cardiologist. I am too old to be scolded by a doctor I am paying money to for asking questions and taking notes!

Great interventional cardiologist. He said my life 2 years ago with emergency stents. Not so good with patient follow up and bedside manner.

Still the most terrifying experience I've ever had ... and that includes a cancer diagnosis.

My whole family now uses this Cardiologist who recently moved to Mount Dora / Eustis area. We all love him. He saved my husband from open heart. Bedside manner was excellent and his english is very good. He actually sits and talks to you and explains everything, he even remembers stuff from the last visit. I just think he is awesome.
