Dr. Pradeep Kumar Gupta, MD

Dr. Gupta decides whether you are worth a checkup, even if you are in pain. If he believes he won't make a substantial profit from your case or if you won't require many procedures, he will decline to see you.

I have not seen the doctor yet, this one star is for his office staff, especially for the person who schedules appointment. When she finally answered the phone, she asked me all kinds of detail questions includes who referred me, the person's name, why do I want to see Dr. Gupta, all the insurance information, all my history includs where and when if I have any procedure and those doctors' names. When I asked why these have anything to do with making appointment, she never gave me a straight answers, but saying she would talk to the Dr and call me back, which she never did. Now that I read all the one star review, I think she might have done me a favor. Luckily, there are planty doctors out there. I might have just saved myself some headaches.

The most negligent care I have ever experienced in my life. When trying to explain my symptoms, Dr. Gupta frequently cut me off to say he "couldn't help me with that." Not only did he do nothing about the blood in my stool happening persistently for months, he told me I was being dramatic. He then told me he had forgotten to tell me about test results that had happened three months prior, that required me to get further testing that should have happened by the appointment he was seeing me at. He has terrible bedside manor and does not actually care about the wellbeing of his patients.

During Covid you must be careful. However I’m over 50 male and was told by my primary care physician that a colonoscopy should not be delayed. They recommended Dr. Gupta’s office. Unfortunately everyone in that office seems to think that they are doing you a favor by allowing you to be a patient. When I showed up for my colonoscopy they did not test me for Covid while I waited in the waiting room for over an hour. They did not test me for Covid prior to taking all my vitals. They did not test me until I was stripped down in a gown and ready to go to the ER. But Idiocracy of using a rapid test for a procedure is mind boggling. I should’ve been tested with the molecular test a few days prior. But that would be inconvenient for them. When my test came back positive (which was wrong because I did get a PCR test two days later and the results were negative. And I paid for that test because Gupta‘s office would not administer a second test they were adamant about it was not their problem).… I find their behavior to be unprofessional, reckless, and certainly unethical. They continually send me a bill for their canceled procedure. Do not go to this office

I was a patient of Dr. Gupta's for years. He is absolutely impossible to get a hold of - it takes weeks of constant calling to get through to his office and get simple questions answered. He is also incredibly unhelpful. When he put me on a very expensive medication and I mentioned my concerns about the cost, he said there was nothing he could do. One of his staff told me about the discount membership program, not him. As other reviews have mentioned, he is very arrogant. When I told him that one of the medications I was on was causing me to rapidly gain weight and I was concerned about this, he laughed it off and told me to cut out carbs. Besides the fact that cutting out carbs is not healthy, how does that help the problem!? Lastly, he is negligent towards his patients. I was simultaneously on two prescriptions from him for years. He suddenly denied my request for one of the medications, offering no explanation. It took me two months of calling to get in contact with his office and… find out that he said I did not need to be on both medications, despite the fact that he had been refilling the prescriptions for years. I was so dismayed and frustrated - hundreds of dollars spent on a medication I didn't need to be on, only to have the prescription cancelled with no explanation.

After receiving a referral from my doctor to schedule an appointment with Pradeep Gupta, I called his office and got the run around. Mostly over concerns of verifying insurance before they would schedule anything. THEN, Pradeed Gupta himself called me. After patronizing me about a national crisis and how he was "doing me a favor", I informed him that I got the run around from his office and he did not need to patronize me. He was quick to tell me he has "been doing this for 26 years and has never been spoken to that way". My guess is I'm not the first or the last to complain about the service from his office. I have never encountered such arrogance from a "medical Professional". I use that term lightly because he was anything BUT professional. I would never recommend using his practice.

staff gave incorrect follow up instructions and dr was very rude during visit, hard to reach when I wanted to clarify a mix up

Terrible staff, can't get ahold of anyone and hard time scheduling. Dr and staff don't communicate and get mixed messages on what to do.

While I am confident Dr. Gupta is a fantastic doctor, when you spend a week preparing for a colonoscopy and get 17 minutes of his time (including the two minute discussion afterwards), at which time he is upset because you weren't 'clean enough' even though you followed all the instructions, I have to wonder if it was worth is to see him. Luckily, nothing was found, but he gave me three years to come back because there were a couple of areas he couldn't see because of small bits of food. I have had two previous colonoscopies that were perfect. I had questions before the test about the prep and actually went to his Annandale office and spoke to the nurse there. If you try calling the offices, you NEVER GET A CALL BACK. She gave me further instructions, which I followed. Now, I find out that they were wrong. Who pays for this? Me. There have to be other doctors out there with smaller practices who can pay more attention to their patients. He just checked boxes and walked away.

Dr. Gupta and the staff was very good about telling me about the procedure, they ask if I had any questions. This is the second time I had a colonoscopy done by Dr. Gupta, very good service.
