Dr. Prakash R Puranik, MD

This doctor is arrogant, rough and will accuse you of lying to your face. I had two hip replacements within the last 7 years. The causes are being an alcoholic, receiving steroid injections or the cause is unknown. I have never been a drinker, never had steroid injections, so I fell in the category of the cause being unknown. When I told the doctor this he accused me of taking steroid injections. I was there to schedule surgery for carpal tunnel. He told me he was not even sure I had carpal tunnel and wanted to run his own test prolonging the pain I had been tormented with for a very long duration. He had several test from other specialist stating I had severe carpal tunnel that required surgery. He was very rough examining me. Talked down to me as if I was beneath him and not on his level. Dr. Puranak is a terrible doctor. I was warned by 3 other people before I went to him. I should have listened. Needless to say I changed doctors. I went to Dr. Levin in Oak Hill. Great… doctor!! Dr. Levin performed the surgery and I am now 80- 85% better and improving. I do not recommend Puranik. I highly recommend Dr. Levin!!
