Dr. Prakashchandra Bhikhabhai Patel, MD

First time seeing this doctor and will not go back. Staff is friendly but he needs to have better communication skills. And, be considerate of a patient's previous care.

My PCP referred me to him for breathing problems.When he decides to come in the exam room after 30 minutes he starts asking me questions about my sleep.I told him I was'nt seeing him for a sleep disorder I am having problems breathing.He said well if you snore at night you might not have a breathing ptoblem.The next thing I know he sends his sleep tech Warren who is very unprofessional and tries to talk me in to having a sleep study.I will never go back to that office.

I had great experience at Dr Patel's clinic. His staff at clinic and sleep center were caring. Easy to schedule appointment and follow up care was extraordinary. I recommend their office to my family and friends.

I found Dr. Patel to be very kind and knowledgable. His staff was also very professional and made me feel at home during my sleep study. I really did not know what to expect and was a little nervous, but they explained everything to me and it was actually very comfortable. I feel so much better now that I am using my cpap for sleep apnea. I used to feel like a zombie every day, but now I can focus and think clearly also I have so much more energy to get through the day! I would definitely recommend Dr. Patel to anyone, he is a wonderful doctor!

I was referred to Dr. Patel because of a sudden onset of acute asthma. After a breathing test his nurse said my results were like I smoked 2-3 packs of cigarettes a day, I told her I used to smoke but not now. His diagnosis, COPD, and I should quit smoking. I asked him why I was having sudden asthma and a sudden extreme case of COPD when I had never had either, not even a slight asthma attack or breathing problem close to COPD, even when I did smoke? He or his nurse told me it was my age and all the irreversible damage I did when I smoked. Four days later part of my lung collapsed because one of the lobes was clogged with an infection. Then while flushing it, he left all the blood and mucus in my sinus cavities. For four days in the hospital I couldn't get it to come out, finally a nurse gave me saline to flush my sinuses, and I finally got it to start moving and got it all out. He also continued to order steroids, even after I told him I was allergic to them. The worse part is that I… had to go through that very painful experience because he blew off my sudden symptoms because I once smoked, and fell back on a diagnosis of COPD. Now, because of the collapse, I will always be more susceptible to future collapses, when all he had to do is order a few more tests and find out what was really wrong.
