Dr. Pratibha Kirit Desai, MD

I am not going to her for her personality. Although I did like her! I am going to her for her experience and want her to help cure me of cancer!!!!! My husband and my family are my emotional support! She has been doing this for 27 years! Something she is doing right. Curing people!

She does not seem to be uptodate on anything including what is happening with patients or what is changing with regard to treatments. The entire operation is done like a mom and pop store and is still stuck 30 years back. The clinic is totally dirty, looks like it is the site of an old horror movie. The staff are robotic and show no care or enthusiasm. The doctor herself seems all about money and too much into herself. Anyone who is suffering from cancer should not have to deal with her ego trip.

Dr Desai is not only a brilliant doctor but a humble and compassion human being. Her dedication and knowledge not only as an oncologist but also as a hematologists is more than impressive and runs the extra mile to find the best treatment option for her patients. She treated my husband, who was a cancer patient, for over 10 years and he always felt that she had his back. Even thou my husband passed now ; I have only words of gratitude to Dr. Desai. She moved mountains to make sure my husband could be around to see our daughter grow. Also her stuff is well knowledgeable and many of them have been working for Dr Desai for many years. My daughter and I still visit the office ofter because we have good friends in there .

Dr. Desai is not a doctor I would ever choose for a loved one again. We were limited due to our insurance so for the past year my mom was going to her to be treated for ovarian cancer. As her numbers continues to climb, this Dr. Did not look into changing her chemo to something that may work on bringing her numbers down. We asked repeatedly to try different chemo, and she finally did. When she had a per scan done it showed that finally there were no visible signs of cancer, we were thrilled. However her numbers were still out of the normal range by quite a bit. At that time, my mom was in the hospital with gallstones...once they were removed, the hospital wanted to take out her gallbladder. Even though Dr. Desai knew her numbers were very high, and not testing her further, she told us, and the hospital, as far as she is concerned, they can do whatever they want...these were her words...she's so disrespectful. Well after some procedures, turns out that because she did not do more… tests to prove the cancer was gone, my mom passed away yesterday. The did tests when she took a turn for the worse and informed us that her cancer had spread all over and this is the result of her death. Months ago, Dr. Desai should have stayed on top of this and maybe, or maybe not, my mom would not have gone through all of this horrible procedures. I know that people always to point fingers, and normally the way I live my life I do not like to do that, but Dr. Desai is the main reason my mom had a horrible end of life...it could have been prevented if she had treated my mother as a person and not a number. The chemo nurses agree, I've had many conversations with then as well, and to hear them quietly tell me how they do not respect her as a cancer doctor says something BIG. I wish you all the best care and luck with your chemo...10 years ago when my mom had this cancer, she went to James Lapolla, saved her life then, and if it weren't for our finances, Optimum sent us to her...and now I will forever be without my mother.

CLINIC IN LARGO IS A SLAUGHTERHOUSE FOR PATIENTS..B OOD ON DOORS..HUGE BIOMEDICIAL WASTE CARBOARD BOX AT END OF PATIENT HALLWAY.

My father has been going to her for a while now and i have heard horrific things. She NEVER answers phone calls from other drs when he goes to have procedures even when given weeks in advance. Multiple times have I had to take my father home from other specialists because she refuses to pick up the phone or get back to them when they have concerns regarding medications. My father has a very important medication he must take and he and the pharmacy both have issues contacting her when it needs an “okay” to get filled. She is very unprofessional and has called my father a “whiny baby” when he tells her he has severe pain. As far as I’m concerned she is a terrible person and doctor.

I have been seeing Dr. Desai for my lung cancer and she is so caring whenever I see her. She is a compassionate doctor. She will listen to your concerns and explain each step she is taking to help fight your disease. I would recommend Dr Desai to anyone fighting this or any ugly cancer. Thank you Dr. Desai, you are my hope and strength.

She is a relatively good doctor but she doesn't follow up as she states she will. Impossible to get a call back...my primary and I left several messages regarding an important issue she stated she was calling the radiologist to follow up. No word, no response...I switched doctors...my health is too important!
