Dr. Praveena Solipuram, MD

I don't know if it was because my breast cancer was only stage 1 or what, but Praveena Solipuram was indifferent to the point of negligent. In every appointment I had with her, she was 100% unfamiliar with my case when she entered the exam room. At one point, she asked me when I had completed radiation; I didn't have radiation treatment, and she would have been the one to order it if I had. I waited a month for the results of my oncotyping with total radio silence from her office, and when I called the company that performs the oncotyping I learned they'd never received my sample. At this point I attempted to switch doctors and clinic locations, and it was only then that Praveena Solipuram roused herself to call me. It turned out they'd somehow "overlooked" sending in my sample for oncotyping -- a test that would determine whether I had to have chemotherapy. Praveena Solipuram made a bad time in my life exponentially worse.

After being misdiagnosed and mistreated with another Dr I was discouraged that I would figure out what was wrong with me and to get proper treatment. That was until I was sent to Dr. Praveena Solipuram. She was right on top of figuring out what is wrong, quickly started treatment and follow up without a problem.

You ask her the right questions to get the right answers. Treats you well and makes you feel better.

Maybe it is a cultural difference, Dr. Solipuram is very stiff and uncomfortable acting in demeanor. Has a somewhat superior attitude.

There is not likely a doctor treating cancer patients with a colder manner. When delivering diagnosis and treatment information she speaks in a monotone voice. Discourages questions and when receiving a question, sometimes rolls her eyes and adjusts her glasses giving me the feeling she's put out. You are left feeling like a burden. When we receive the side effects of each course of treatment, Solipuram speaks fast barely pausing. It sounds like she's reading you the fine print, not a process your body will be intimately faced with after a radical invasion of chemicals. She avoids discussing if treatment has a reasonable degree of likelihood to slow down the leukemia. If we were not forced to use Solipuram due to a staff change, I would not be in her care. I strongly recommend you avoid Dr. Solipuram. In my opinion she should not be working with people.
