Dr. Praveena Ganni Velamati, MD

DR. Velamati is knowledgeable, listen well, explains conditions, answer questions, patient, caring and pleasant.

I went to see this Dr and as first time seeing her I was disappointed that she came in and talked to me about my problem I had been having for a long time. Then she said one thing to do and out she went. I was the only patient there at the time so why the rush??

I had an appointment yesterday at 245pm, I work at the high school and got stuck in bus traffic, I received a called from her receptionist that since I was not there yet (it was 225) they would have to cancel. I was 3 minutes away and told her and she said sorry in a not so sorry tone. I have NEVER had a doctor's office do this. My OB Dr. Lori Sweitzer who is extremely busy as a solo practice delivery babies never did once. I couldn't believe it. I will NOT be going to Dr. Velamati. I will return to GBMC to see Dr.Ha, I'll make the drive and if I am a few minutes late I am sure they wont call to cancel.

pathology bill being sent to me for me to pay; after 90 days, still being dunned for a charge to due this office failure; sent to non participating vendor!!!!

She was polite and friendly , but that is where the positive comments stop. This doctor spent less than 5 minutes with me and was relatively unconcerned by the fact I had a drastic weight drop.She also brushed off some of my other concerns. Will not go back.

- Found her to be very quick and thorough- Explains what she will do and suggested diagnosis- Not a lot of time for discussion, but she is open to questions and will respond.

She was very helpful in treating my condition and very easy to talk to. It is nice to find a gastroenterologist like her to make an uncomfortable situation very pleasant.

Excellent bedside manner. Actually spent time explaining my condition instead of just prescribing medications as previous doctors had done.

Dr Velamati is very caring and skilled. She was able to complete my colonoscopy while my previous gastroenterologists could not. She found an early colon cancer and saved my life!
