Dr. Premal Harish Thaker, MD

I originally saw Dr. Thaker in 2020 for stage 3 c ovarian cancer carcinosarcoma. She scheduled hysterectomy and debunking surgery within the month and operated on a day she normally did not do surgeries. She shared the scary results with my family post surgery. When we met for pathology results, she shared the results and treatment plan. She wouldn?t give us time frames but instead said we are going to fight. She saw me every 3 weeks before chemo and answered all of my questions each visit. She is very passionate about research and offered several research studies I could participate in. I continue to see her every 6 months and truly believe I'm alive today because of her knowledge and excellent care.

I have been a patient of Dr.Thaker's for the past two years. She performed my hysterectomy and has provided continuing care. I am pleased with the way she handled my diagnosis. She is a caring practioner but is honest in what I was facing while at the same time encouraging me to be hopeful and she was with me every step of the way. I would recommend her to my family and friends.

I got the surgical and medical results I needed. She is the only doctor I’ve seen in this health system that I feel doesn’t care about me as a person at all! She doesn’t care about the after effects of gyn cancer surgery. She doesn’t care about the social-emotional needs of her patients.

I am beyond thankful that I was sent to Dr. Thaker. She literally saved my life. I was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer 9 months ago. The tumor had grown so much and had attached itself to all sorts of my internal organs. Have had 2 surgeries performed by Dr. Thaker - including a complete hysterectomy. I went through 6 rounds of chemo and have been cleared as cancer free! However, she also suggested genetic testing due to a family history of cancer and I was diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome. She has been the most caring, passionate, understanding doctor EVER. Yes, sometimes I do have to wait - she is extremely busy and in high demand....I know there are other patients going through similar situations and I understand them needing their time with her, as well. I sincerely hope Dr. Thaker is around for my entire Lynch syndrome journey. I know she will take care of me - along with her amazing nurse coordinator!!

She is amazing!

I was sent to see her due to a very large mass on my ovary. Prior to the surgery they did not now exactly where the mass was growing from, or what it could be damaging due to the size. She was very patient with my fears and explained everything that would be going on. Even after the surgery she continued to be friendly and even joked around with me. I felt safe in her care. If I had any negative comments it would not be with Dr Thaker, but instead with the girls running her counter when you check in. They always seem disinterested and bored.

With BrCa1 preventative surgery is important, particularly a hysterectomy with ovaries. Going through this once with horrible effects from sudden drop in hormones is challenging. I am grateful to have had this very competent surgeon who is at the top of the list.

She asked me twice why I was there! She was upset that my doctor sent me there without running CA125. I have nothing to do with that! Really felt like I wasn't worth the time she had to take to come into the room. Would not look at my scans just said they would review them. Left her office feeling very confused and helpless. I had been told by 3 different doctors that I have a solid mass on my ovaries and she would only say I think it's a cyst you probably get them every month. I'll check in 3 weeks.

She is passionate about gynecology oncology! She has total compassion for her patients, especially in surgery. She is among the top researchers in the country

Very busy dr. Very much in demand. If your life depends on her knowledge, the wait is nothing. While her schedule is brutal and rushed quite often, she is very patient, kind and gentle in surgery. She always wants the best for her patients
