Have you ever had body pain, a cold, or the flu? These issues required a visit with a professional, interventions for you or the provider, and a plan for treatment. Taking care of your mental health is the same as taking care of your physical health. The mind and body work together for a healthier you. My role as a counselor is to create awareness, challenge you to problem solve, and to have your best interest in mind. I will guide you to make decisions to impact your life, hopefully in a positive way.

I am a graduate of Sam Houston State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Arts in Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor with approximately 18 years experience in Mental Health. Having a family member go through depression prompted my interest in pursuing a career in Mental Health. By maintaining a professional relationship, we will work as a team to address life challenges.

I have 14 years of …experience working at a Non-Profit Community Mental Health Center serving those diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, and Co-occurring Substance Use disorders. I also have experience working with individuals diagnosed with PTSD, Anxiety, and Depression. I have worked as a counselor in a county jail, serving both males and females. For two years I worked in a behavioral health hospital, serving individuals in crises to include individual, group, and family therapy. Most of the individuals I have worked with were adults with some experience in working with adolescents. I am trained in CBT and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR).
