Dr. Priya Prabhakar Saxena, MD

Priya Saxena is AMAZING. I am saddened that I got new insurance that doesn't count her as in-network, but she is with UPMC, so it's not surprising. At any rate, I've always had great appointments with her, never canceled any on me, and she's thorough and listens to everything I say/am concerned about, and gives great explanations. She believes the things I tell her, which is great because it seems a lot of doctors don't always do that. The only negative thing I'd say is her assistant, Amanda, is lousy at getting back to messages half the time and prescription refill requests. But this is something I doubt Priya knows about and it's quite possible Amanda is overwhelmed with messages. If you're not hearing anything back, pick up the phone and call Comprehensive Care and you'll get an answer back same day. Sheesh.

Dr. Saxena visits a family member in a nursing home and she never gives us updates or tells us why she sees them. She is not good at getting back to you or getting important paper work sent in on time. Our elders need a doctor who is reliable.

Terrible physician. Cancels appointments.
