Dr. Puneet Darshan Narang, MD

Dr. Narang is incredibly dismissive. Within just a week of meeting me, he diagnosed me with borderline personality disorder. This is already irresponsible, as one cannot accurately diagnose a personality disorder while knowing a patient for just a week. He then used this diagnosis to repeatedly dismiss my concerns. Whenever I expressed that my mood was worsening and that I felt like my antidepressants weren't working, he would interrupt to tell me that I would need "a lot of psychotherapy" and that meds would not help me as I "have a personality disorder." I started working with a different psychiatrist who actually listened to my concerns, and she worked with me to find an antidepressant that was right for me. Lo and behold, once I started that med, my "personality disorder symptoms" magically disappeared after a few weeks. Turns out I did not have a personality disorder, I had severe depression that is thankfully under control today with the help of my current therapist and… psychiatrist.
