Dr. Purvi Jai Sanghvi, MD

My parents were her pt. She judges patients by their nationality or race. She do not listen and mostly passes condescending remarks. She is not right fit. Me and my family agrees, during most visit she didn't listen or answer questions. She starts blaming her patients without listening what they have to say.There is no right for her to get angry at patients but she would do that during multiple visit. Hate to say negative things about her but she got to know how she is perceived and what other patients needs to be aware of. Always rushed appointments and she makes you feel uncomfortable and stressed! We changed her as MD and we are very happy.

She is too loud and could use some soft skills. People visit Doctors when they need help, it doesn’t hurt to be kind then self declaration of ‘I am not going to speak nicely etc.’. I don’t recommend going to her if you are not one of the folks who would pay to receive unwarranted criticism

My parents were patients of Purvi Sanghvi for years. From the very start, I was not thrilled with this doctor and I tried many times to talk them into changing to another internist. This doctor does not believe in pain medicines, anxiety or sleeping pills. Grant you, she did mentioned this to my parents upfront when they went to her initially, and why they still wanted to stay with her is beyond me. She ended up stopping my mom’s pain meds - abruptly - without phasing them out so she could get acclimated to the her pain. What kind of insensitive doctor does this to an elderly woman? When my parents went on appointments, they would tell me the way this doctor would talk down to them….Purvi Sanghvi treated and chastised my parents like children. Of course, whenever we accompanied my parents to these doctor visits, she was very professional. My parents routinely went for comprehensive check up and blood work throughout the years. When my dad started losing significant weight in… the fall of 2018, her suggestion was to drink Ensure and up his protein intake. In Nov, we ended up taking my dad to the ER for a pain in his lower back, test results suggested a bladder infection. They also did a CAT scan and by chance, found a large mass on his liver - the size of a 5X7 picture frame (18cmx13cm). He had liver cancer….This mass did not grow overnight. We were shocked...how could this be? He was supposedly getting regular check ups every 6 months or so with Purvi Sanghvi. How in the world does a doctor miss this huge mass on his liver? How? My dad passed away 30Dec18 and I truly believe, if the mass would have been detected sooner through proper care with this Dr. Purvi Sanghvi, I believe he would still be alive. My recommendation, find another doctor other than Purvi Sanghvi... one who is compassionate, LISTENS to their patient and is through with their check ups.

She spends as much time with one as any doctor, anymore--it is never enough, but she is very kind and understanding and helpful, and I know she would spend more quality time, if the government wasn't dictating what all doctors do these days!
