Rude and arrogant office manager!

My son Jayden has been under doctor Van meter care since he was 3 . Jayden is now 7 years old . Over the last 4 years we only missed two no show appointment! One was due to my car problem and the second one was an honest mistake bc we called after hours too early 8:15 am they’re open 8:30 so the answer machine stated they won’t be open until next business day on cyber Monday! I called to get lab work and explain what happen ! The nurse Pam ask let her called me back see what the doctor wants to do! Next thing I knew I got a letter stating were are officially discharge from doctor or van meter office due to no show ! All of years of studying books = money hungry instead valuable loving and caring character! What a coward Doctor van meter couldn’t even give me a call instead hide behind a discharge letter with his signature approval! Sick to me stomach the doctor even mention my son illness requires continuous monitoring and extremely important i look for new doctor ! What a… Disappointed! He sold his soul !

Was originally seen by Dr. Lo which was a better choice for us. However was seen then after that by Dr. Van Meter who goes on and on about himself and his accomplishments. Then I felt because we were on medicaid he was constantly saying things that were stereotypical of low income black families evasive and rude like wow I bet your mom paid a lot for your tennis shoes and was shocked and surprised about my education level. And kept badgering us about doing test studies, its bad enough my daughter as a child has to deal with this serious disease and you want to pick her apart even more. Sure studies help but if I decline the first time it is very rude to ask again. My child is sick and needs your help and we have low income but that does not mean we are complete idiots. Also we would always show up on time and would still wait for an hour to be seen however if we are more than 15 minutes late (even though we will wait an hour) we will not be seen and counted as a missed visit,… which is $75. I would have to say no thanks. You are not the only pediatric endocrinologist in Georgia.

We met Dr. VanMeter at diabetes camp one summer and knew that we had to get into his practice. He is one of the most gentle, kind, caring and understanding doctors I know. He is stern with our daughter but in a loving way. She doesn't leave the office after a visit feeling defeated. We love Mary, his daughter, just as much. She is awesome. We recommend Dr. VanMeter to everyone we know.

He always makes me wait about an hour before we even go back to the room. Then makes us feel rushed. He talks more about how educated he is than about how to help me....Not a great doctor althought to hear him talk he is the best in his field.

My son has been seeing Dr. VanMeter for 3 years and we have always been seen promptly. Dr. VanMeter always makes sure he not only explains to us on our son's progression, but talks directly to our son to make sure he understands and doesn't have any questions. He and his staff are caring and professional.

Went to Dr. Van Meter to check and see if my son had human growth hormone (HGH) deficiency. When tests came back normal, Dr. Van Meter realized things still didn't add up so he ordered more tests that proved my son's lack of the hormone. Dr. Van Meter spent more time with us than any other Dr. we have had and answered ALL our questions. You can tell he enjoys what he does and he helped my son feel very at ease.

We were referred to see endo by our primary care, which in turn landed us with the unfortunate pleasure of seeing Dr Vanmeter. He not only was rude to my daughter, he questioned "what continuing education class" our primary care and the radiologist went to that made them think she needed to see endo. I don't know what has given him the idea that he is God and knows more than all the other doctors. For the 1st time in my 40 years, I walked out of a doctors office. I have encountered many doctors in my lifetime, and never have a been treated like this.

Good physician, however make sure you adhere to your scheduled appts... 2 strikes and you are dismissed from the office!!(2 missed appts)...Too bad for children who may have established a level of comfort with the doctor to not be welcomed back because of a missed appt... Life unexpectancies do happen!
