Dr. Quynh Nhu Nguyen, MD

Dr. Nguyen (radiology oncology at MD ANDERSON) was difficult to deal with. She was irritated at questions she did not think important to answer. She was condescending to patients who were attempting to ask questions. She had an unrealistic expectations of patient's ability to change schedules with one hours notice. She was irritated when patient said she was unable to keep cell phone on and with her at all times. But the worst was when patient attempted 3-5 times to ask WHAT are we radiating, she said "you have to listen". That is highly insulting to a patient who was listening intently and actively asking follow up questions when the initial answer did not answer the question being asked. That is highly insulting to a patient who was interacting with the information being given. It was not a situation of NOT listening. Further more, it appeared to patient that Dr. Nguyen didn't know who the patient was each visit because she repeatedly said things like "you are almost… finished" when the patient had just begun treatment. Also a change in plans: first 28 sessions, then 15, then 25 with no explanation. Needing to rescan after only one session with no real explanation. Lack of communication and irritability when patient asked further questions.

Dr. Nguyen is young, has a wonderful sense of humor, and is great at her job! I got both a glasses, and a contact lenses prescription from her. She was very efficient and helpful. I have a lot of confidence in her expertise!
