Dr. Richard Eugene Ramsay, MD

I was a patient of Dr. Ramsay when he was in UM. He thinks outside of the box and got my seizures under control. He is humane and genuinely cares. After I gave birth I was having uncontrollable Grand Mal seizures and he got them under control. There was a time when I lost all my insurance and wasn't working... and he continued to see me regularly in spite of it.

He is a smart doctor with a lot of knowledge about seizures and plenty of credentials and awards received to show he is one of the best doctors around and we are lucky to have him here in Louisiana and hope he never leaves because it would be impossible to find another doctor that could compare to his knowledge of the neurological field..

Dr Ramsey may be a world-renowned expert, but good luck trying to get his office to refill a prescription within a month's time (they'll repeatedly lose the request, after telling you how short staffed they are--meanwhile, you'll get scheduled for an appointment to check blood levels of the drug you no longer have a prescription for) or to have him call you to let you know whether you've got a brain tumor or idiopathic seizures. You'll go into an appointment and he won't have bothered to look at the chart or have talked to the nurse you just spent 15 minutes with to see why you're there. And that's the least of it...

Would never see again even if I could be guaranteed a complete "cure"! He oozed arrogance and condescension.
