Dr. Schmidt saved my life. I drove two hours regularly to see him. I never waited unreasonable amounts of times. If people have to wait it is because he is spending necessary time with other patients who need it more than you might. He saw me on days off, called me personally on issues of concern after surgeries and always had a way of making me feel better about my bleak future and decreased my anxiety. He is compassionate, caring and looks at every possibility before making a decision. His nurses are amazing and never minimized a concern I had. He did two lumpectomies and then a bilateral mastectomy. If he is telling you not to do a bilateral it is because he is outweighing the pros and cons and doing what is best for your health. I had a bilateral one because I had triple negative and it was very aggressive but it was the hardest thing I have ever went thru and recovery takes every bit of 9 weeks or more to get back to somewhat normal functioning. Those of you who are mad… at what he decided to do, maybe he was looking out for your best interest and health. Doctors aren't God! They are just using the knowledge and experience they have to save your life. He is the most experienced Breast surgeon out there in this state hands down. I want the best and I found it. I will see him until I die or he dies because I trust him that much to take care of me and I trust he genuinely cares.

Dr Schmidt would not do a double mastectomy on me. He wanted to put me through two surgeries and do one at a time. Ridiculous! My time is just as important as his time. I waited in his waiting room for 4 hours and twenty minutes. No sorry, nothing! I changed to Dr. Goedde. Amazing! I would recommend him to everyone. HUGE difference!

He saved my life 20 years ago! Without him I would not be here today! He had great patience and empathy for me and gave me outstanding care!

I was referred to Dr. Schmidt by a friend. When I had my first visit with him I wanted a double mastectomy. He sat with me and told me the risks involved do to having to have some lymph nodes taken out. He helped me decide that it would be best to do a single mastectomy and take out the nodes, then in 6 months after radiation to do the other breast and do reconstructive surgery at that time. He is very caring and compassionate. I drive over an hour to see him!

Any of the ladies commenting, how many times did Dr Schmidt visit you in the hospital. ZERO.

I had cancer in my right breast, Dr Schmidt did a lumpectomy. Did fine for 5 yrs and cancer came back, same breast, this time I had a mastectomy. I begged Dr Schmidt to do a mastectomy on my left breast, which he said I had a 1o/o chance of it turning cancerous. Three months later I had cancer in my left breast. I left, never to return.

Lengthy wait every time in waiting room and office room; however, his visits were less than 30 seconds with no time for questions.

Dr. Schmidt expects his patients to have a Clinical Breast Examination (CBE) every 6 months but his billing staff codes this procedure as a minor follow-up visit (99212) which is NOT covered by Medicare.

I was glad to have him on my team when going through breast cancer.
