Dr. Rabail Razi-Akmal, MD

Dr Razi is a great doctor she takes the time to listen and does not hesitate to send you for testing an blood work to get to the bottom of the problem. I feel very safe in her care and her office staff is very nice as well.

I set up a new patient visit with Dr. Razi (in-network for my insurance). I'm a healthy person and went to this appointment as a preventative health measure. She spent 5 minutes (max) talking with me about my health history. During which she asked if anything was bothering me now (overall health). I mentioned my health is great but sometimes I have trouble sleeping. Dr. Razi asked if my job was stressful. I explained that it can be like anyone's can. She then preached I should find a different job for 3 of the 5 minutes. Unfortunately, she did not ask other follow-up questions or provide any medical advice to help improve my sleep. She did not prescribe medication, a supplement or refer me to a sleep clinic. So for answering a vague question, she provided zero help. She billed the preventative visit as an office visit for "insomnia", which changed the cost of my visit from $0 to $308, of which my insurance paid $140. She perverted my answer to her question as the main reason I made an… appointment. I called my insurance about the $168 bill for an annual physical. After the insurance specialist looked into Dr. Razi's coding, she said her billing specialist laughed at the coding. She explained that trying to make a preventative visit into an office visit is exactly what a deceptive doctor does. I was shocked that my insurance cared more than Dr. Razi! Within a month of my appointment, my husband had his new patient exam. Since his appointment was before we received the first bill, we didn't know that we should have canceled it. Dr. Razi did the same thing and coded his preventative visit as an office visit as well but for "snoring". He fell into her trap and mentioned he snored sometimes when she asked an open-ended question. Dr. Razi billed $308 for his visit. Fortunately, our insurance changed the coding to preventative for both our visits. They advised next time we should be wary of a new doctor before answering their questions. The insurance specialist suggested stating the intent of the visit as preventative. Also, to ask how the Dr. how they will code the visit if you answer a question. If you choose to go see a doctor for an annual exam at Meritus Health, be wary of deceptive doctors and coding.

I have been seeing Dr. Razi for about 2 years. She is great! she always takes time to listen to my concerns and is very good at going through my treatment options.

I was looking for a new doctor when I made an appointment with Dr. Razi-Akmal. She has been my doctor for the last 2 years and I am very happy with her and her staff. It is a very busy practice and sometimes you have to wait but when i see her we go over any outstanding conditions and she takes the time to listen to my concerns and goes over them in detail with me. she explains all of my options and helps me make the best decision for treatment. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a PCP.

I am writing to you today to tell you what a disappointment Dr. Razi is. First, I am not someone that constantly goes to the doctor. If I make an appointment it's because I am sick. I can not believe that when I place a call to find out what I could do when the medicine she to told me to take made me sick. I called on Thurs. Dec7 ..no call back. Not even from an office personal. I gave it a day thinking she might have been to busy. Called again to ask if she was given the message. Yes, she was. If she is to busy and doesn't care to respond to patient's maybe she should let them know that she didn't answer. I am now in search for a doctor. Thanks for no help at all. I will be sure to let everyone I know what kind of doctor she is. I know there are emergencies sometimes and I don't expect her to get right back to me but never responding is unacceptable to me. And, I called early in the morning.overstaffed nice. They can't help the doctor is not responsible enough to her patients.
