Dr. Rabeya Sultana Chowdhury, MD

Dr. Chowdhury isn’t a bad doctor herself however she needs to work on the receptionist that are the face of her office. There’s a Bengali receptionist who goes by the name Raffeya I believe, who is an absolute nightmare. She was very disrespectful to my mother who is an elderly. Refused to see us after we were told to come if for a walk in that very same morning. She began getting loud when I explained that they told us to walk in saying the doctor is NOT obligated to see us. The instant I left my mother alone to go park the car she began harassing my mother, who uses a walker to move around. She called my moms name twice only to have her sit back down, stating she’s calling someone else by that name. But no one else got up. She got very loud and was extremely unprofessional. Her English was broken yet she was giving my mother grief for not being fluent in English. Ultimately after wasting 2 1/2 hour of our time we find out they do not take my mothers new insurance. If you ask… me , Raffeya intentionally made us wait out of spite. The management needs to do something about their staff. This was not the first time the very same women gave us grief along with many other patients who do not same English.

She is very unprofessional. She took me off my birth control pills and now my menstrual cycle is messed up as well as other side effects. I told her that this would happen but because of her South Asian mentality that birth control pills are "bad", she still told me to not take the pill for 6 months.

*This practice treats you worse than cattle. While you have an appointment, you can be guaranteed at least a 2.5 hrs wait before you see a dr. During that time you're standing in the corridors as it's musical chairs to get a seat. *They ask what Dr. you wish to see but it's never that Dr. that attends to you. The Drs. never introduce themselves, discuss matters with you or even respects your privacy. *You're half naked in an examination chair(legs propped open and all) and everyone is coming in and out of the room. No knocking , no drawn blinds etc. *Rude, unprofessional Doctors and staff alike. I went to Dr. due to lump under arm and acute pain in breast. Not once did the Dr. do an exam. They recommended a mammogram but didn't bother to get the results after having me wait for 3 hrs. I called the Lab and got the results and I was ushered in a room with another female after I asked if someone was going to discuss my results with me. The Dr. stood by the blind and said there… is no issue, you can leave. Not once did they try to allay my fears or have a discussion with me. How can this practice be catering to women needs boggles my mind. The pain is still present along with swelling. One Dr. (older woman--maybe Russian, as she never introduced herself) suggested that I have a D/C for a fibroid issue. I asked about another procedure as with D/C studies have shown that there maybe faster reoccurrence. Her response sarcastically was "then why not get a hysterectomy". I was too shocked to respond. Not once did the Dr. sit with me and discuss my options (she stood by the door as I was having a pap test done). I did ask to meet with Dr.Chowdhury but was informed that whatever was said to me or lack thereof was sanctioned by her. The list goes on, but I will just highlight these.... It saddens me to think that this kind of treatment is common as most of the patients seem to be of east Indian decent and come from a culture that doesn't question doctors, hence the kind of disrespect that is meted out and the lack of empathy. * I must mention that the follow up is Excellent. You can be assured that they will call you a million times to remind you of your appointment but when you do get there the nightmare begins. All I ask is that you try and do better, we are people after all and you have been granted the privilege to be part of our care. YES I said privilege. Very soon we will realize that there are other Drs. who will/can replace you. Make a difference!!!!!!.

I called to make an appt to see the doctor because I had seen her in the past years prior. However, the office workers said that I can’t make an appt because my account is “inactive” and they said the doctor can’t see me due to “something happened years ago” but no specification as to what happened. Unprofessional and ridiculous!!

She is a very bad gyn doctor .Her attitude is so very bad and Reciptionist also not helpful and also try to make money from patient. Pls avoid to see this Doctor

Dr. Chowdhury was good about seven years ago when she started her own practice. Within a year she became popular and more commercial rather professional. She allowed her stuff to over book patients. Therefore, patients has experiences extremely long waiting time (2 hours minimum). Her service is severely poor these days. My wife had to change her and got a new dr. Pathetic .. feel petty for her practice..

She so greedy doctors. Every one she pushed for c section to make money. Like Bangladesh As American should monitoring from health department

Very unprofessional worst place to go. Counter persons should be professional. But they don’t care about us extremely unprofessional.

The worst gyn ever in our community and in the country. She would never listen to her patients problem nor consult with them. My wife had been under her supervision about a year and half and she had very bad experience with her. She took doctors away from her who were consulting with my wife without finishing up the treatment for my wife several times. She is more of a business woman than a doctor. So sorry to say that she is a bad doctor, not a good GYN in the city.

They overbook patients. 3-4 hours wait time is normal for this clinic.
