Dr. Rabia Shafiq, DO

We arrived three minutes late to my mother’s 8:45 a.m. appointment due to a freeway accident and were told we could not be seen until 11:30 a.m. or would need to reschedule. My mother is 79 years old, very ill, and only needed prescription refills and a paper signed, which this office requires an in-person visit for prescription refills. The nurse told us Dr. Shafiq would not even come into the room until 11:30 and that we would could either wait or would need to make another appointment. To make matters worse, we received a bill for $128 for a visit that never actually happened. No doctor saw my mother and no medical care was provided. Every visit to this office has had issues, and the doctor has consistently come across as arrogant, rushed, and focused on numbers rather than patient care. We have never felt compassion or genuine concern for my mother’s condition. My mother loves all of her other doctors, but this one has been the exception. We will not be returning, and I would… strongly caution elderly or medically fragile patients before choosing this practice.

Dr. Shafiq is not a good Doctor. Very rude and unprofessional with no sensitivity or bedside manner. Ive been seeing her for a little over a year now. She blamed me for non action by her office and would not listen to my health concerns. She also spoke to me like I deserved no respect and my last visit with her was the last draw. I shouldnt have stayed so long. But i tried not to take it personally. However, you encourage what you allow. She is not a good doctor. I do not recommend her. CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE... ANYBODY ELSE.... CHOOSE ANYONE THAT WILL APPRECIATE THEIR PATIENTS AND NOT TREAT THEM LIKE AN INCONVENIENCE.

I am sincerely shocked and dismayed at the first and only meeting with Dr. Shafiq. I was excited she was so close to our home. young and in the new Memorial Hermann building. She came into the examination room and nearly slammer her tablet down on the desk. From that moment on, she was condescending. argumentative and uncaring. She didn't seem to have any desire to treat me...not even with kindness. I have never had such poor treatment, by any doctor, and I had to pay for the rudeness in advance. I told her I could see she didn't want to help me and I needed to go...after she told me I was wasting her time...which I paid for in advance. She nearly raced me out the door and didn't look back. I too won't look back after I warn as many others as possible...still looking forward to finding a decent and caring doctor for an illness I've been fighting for over 7 years. I have felt uneasy about going to the doctor since I was a child and this encounter didn't help. Check other sites for… reviews because some experiences seem to mirror mine. I feel like "do no harm" doesn't seem to be her motto.
