I had a very similar experience as the one before. I too have shortness of breath and high rate heart rate and bp. I went because I had a bad report from an EKG done at the hospital. My PCP had dismissed it, but I became more and more concerned as I continued to struggle. He asked me why I did not trust my PCP. I just wanted to go to someone who specializes in heart conditions. Also, does getting another opinion mean that everything a doctor says is correct. He was supercilious and smug, arrogant and really passive aggressive. I say passive aggressive because he pretends to listen, but just because he allows you to talk does not mean he is listening or cares about what you are saying. He spent most of the time challenging why I was there and making me explain why I was there rather than his dealing with my health issues. I don't know the outcome of my health issues, but I will go elsewhere. He also said I had psychological issues. I didn't know it was either you had… emotional issues around being ill or you are ill. The can go together.

Last summer I went to the hospital because of shortness of breath and rapid heart rate. I went to Shadyside after talking to my cardiologist's office. I was told the night before if something happened during the night while I was being monitored they take care of it and if nothing happened they would do a stress test. So either way there was a plan. The next morning this person came in and grilled me about why I was there. I also said I couldn't do the running stress test, but I know they have a stress test where you can get an injection. After he made me incredibly upset two more doctors came in separately and asked me the exact same questions and thought I was there for a psychological problem. I didn't have any complaints about psychological problems. When they gave me an echo cardiogram I noticed that nothing was injected into my IV to do the stress test. I asked the attending tech about it and she said that the order for the echocardiogram had nothing about doing a stress… test on it. Fast forward to February of this year and I find out that I needed open heart surgery because my valve got so bad. The only way my cardiologist could tell I needed the surgery was from doing a stress test. If I had gotten the stress test that was originally planned last summer I wouldn't have had to suffer for many months and be bedridden. Of course this review will be erased because the doctors have access to them. And no one will know how big of a screwup this guy is.

Dr Girdhar is kind and caring and is thorough and conscientious... a wonderful doctor!

He's very good. He realises that no one knows your body like you do. He is very caring and listens to you. He isn't one of those doctors that just throughs pills at you.
