Dr. Rachel Elizabeth Lerner, MD

She smiled as she told my mom she had 2 months to live. Expected us to read and understand a CT result. Prior to appt. Always and I mean always late to appt. Not caring at all.

Just gave a death sentence and moved on to the next patient. Didn't refer us, give us options, didn't seem to care.

I was referred to Dr. Lerner with a serious blood disorder. I had seen other doctors, but no one had been able to identify the cause. When I asked her if she knew what might be causing it, she told me the human body is very complex, and I must be one of those special people who is just a mystery. She did order a treatment plan, but made no attempt to look further. On my final appointment with her I tried again and told her I understood she didn't know the cause and asked her if there was anything we could rule out. She started laughing so hard she had to sit back in her chair. My medical records from her list the cause as something that had been tested and ruled out by another doctor, despite the fact that she had records for that and we discussed it during the initial visit.

Dr Lerner is very knowledgeable and her staff was very courteous. She is very prompt and has even called me herself togive me my blood test results. She puts my my previous oncologist to shame as he never once took the time to see or answer my questions his-self. I am very impressed with Dr Lerner she make me feel like she really cares about me and watches my blood tests closely. I would recommend her without hesitation.

The first time I visited I waited for an hour and then left without seeing the dr. all the time I was waitng I asked twice as to what was happening, her staff never once came in to say that she was held up and how long it will be before she can come in to see me. Blood was drawn for some test as it was a six month routine follow up, but I never got the results. the second time I set up an apointment i had blood drawn again, with no results. the third tiem I saw her I aske dher about the blood work results, and she realised the test had not been performed and my third appointment was because the test were not done and now I am in a limbo about my diagnosis. She has a hard time explaining diagnosis, though I'll give her an A for effort, but effort does not cut it when you rlife is at stake.
