Dr. Rachel Lynn Fishman Oiknine, MD

This doctor and this office are an absolute nightmare. I was aggressively pushed toward a completely wrong diagnosis, unnecessary medication, and even TALK of removing my thyroid. Meanwhile, my follow-up bloodwork and scan came back totally normal and let’s not forget, they lost my original scan but somehow the doctor claimed she “already knew what it would look like” because she was sure I had Graves’ disease. That level of arrogance is frightening. Every symptom I explained was brushed off. Every question I asked was dismissed. When the office called with my “diagnosis,” they couldn’t answer anything and told me they’d mail me a pamphlet—as if that substitutes for actual medical knowledge. When I told the doctor her staff should probably be trained before calling patients, she snapped back that she “doesn’t have time to call patients.” Clearly, she doesn’t have time to listen, either. And now they expect me to pay them? For what? For losing my scan? For completely misdiagnosing me?… For pushing unnecessary treatment? For treating me like an inconvenience? This place is reckless, careless, and downright dangerous. I’m incredibly grateful I didn’t let them talk me into a lifetime of medication or unnecessary surgery. Avoid this office at all costs. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here.

What a horrible doctor. We should have walked out after the first minute, as it only took that long to realize that she just doesn't care about her patients. First consult was over in less than 5 minutes. Could care less about how you feel as a person and didn't ask about any history. Simply looked at lab results and prescribed off that piece of paper. Surely being a doctor isn't that simple or we would all be doing it. People have to be more than just a number, but that's all they are to her.

Dr Rachel Fishman Oiknine is rude, dismissive, abrupt. No concern or willingness to answer my questions regarding unanticipated diagnoses she had just given me. I will not return and will discourage anyone else from seeking her care.

Save yourself the trouble. She came into the exam room already knowing what she was going to say. She did not appear concerned about my personal symptoms and experience. One of the worst patient experiences I have had in my life.

After having two biopsies they couldn't detect if it was cancer or not. My thyroid hadn't worked for a couple of years. Dr. Rachel Fishman recommended to remove the nodule and part of my thyroid. Dr. Ruth Decker was the surgeon and we decided to remove the whole thyroid for it wasn't working at all. Didn't want to take out part of my thyroid and go back in to take out the rest if should another nodule appear. After my surgery I did a follow up with my surgeon Dr. Ruth Decker. Highly recommend her. She increased my meds because it was cancer. After that I did a follow up with Dr. Rachel Fishman and she didn't even know my nodule was cancerous even thou the label work was sent to her office. She didn't seem to know what was going on with my results. She kept my meds the same and than did blood work and changed my meds. I went back to her 6 months later and she really reduced my meds which is really dangerous to decrease your thyroid meds by a lot. Could cause heart problems. After… that I left her and am seeing my primary doctor. I highly don't recommend seeing her. She seems out of it the couple of times I have seen her. Her staff is not very friendly also. They are very disorganized group that works for her.

I have to disagree with the negative posts. I've been seeing her for over two years. Yes, she is quick but has never not answered a question or explained a diagnosis. She doesn't sit and chit chat, all business. I definitely recommend her.

I am troubled by Dr. Fishman's demeanor. I have seen her just a few times, she has yet to smile or greet me cordially. The visits have each lasted less than 5 minutes, no explanation of test results etc., just the list of rapid fire general questions. She dresses elegantly, nail polish on fingers and toes, not what I expect of a doctor. Something seems 'off'. I'd like to change doctors but I feel trapped at St. Luke's.

This is the worse doctor I have ever seen. She was very rushed and gave an incorrect diagnosis, which has lead to serious health issues

Unlike many other reviewers I had a very positive experience with Dr. Rachel Fishman. After my physician referral I was seen that same week. The nurses were courteous and walked me through the new patient paperwork and asked important and relevant questions in a timely manner. Between seeing the nurse and Dr. Fishman was about 15 minutes, but when she came in she sat and made professional conversation with me and had clearly examined my medical records and labs from my referring Doctor. We discussed my diagnosis, I was able to ask questions, and she developed a follow up process (which has been followed to a T.) I would recommend Dr. Fishman-Oiknine to any friend or family member.

Excellent doctor. Saw her for thyroid problems. She was very thorough and explained each test/outcome. Have recommended her to others.
