Dr. Racquel Kukita Reyes, MD

I chose a medical office close to my home. Only Dr. Reyes was taking new patients at the time. I am now searching for a new doctor. At my annual physical on Oct. 9, I asked questions, and her response was, "Doctors do not know everything." She referred me to a specialist. I have called her office five times in the past two months requesting a full year renewal on a generic maintenance drug approved by my insurance. Each time, the renewal is only for one month. Now, I must schedule another appointment to renew the prescription. I would give zero stars if that were possible.

So rude. Would rather try to tell the patient how wrong they are rather than listen to their concerns.

I have visited Dr. Reyes regularly for over a year to oversee my care, and that was too long. From my first appointment there were glaring red flags that I speak to friends and family about to this day. I should have paid more attention. Dr. Reyes lacks the ability to actively listen, making it difficult to discuss change. She is much more comfortable when you fit into a category that comes with directions. She then checks off the boxes associated with those directions, and moves on very quickly. I have felt her uncomfortableness when I ask deeper dive questions as she almost takes offense to you not just accepting what she has told you; almost as if she feels she is the only intelligent person in the room, so expect very minimal collaboration.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I was referred to Dr. Reyes after being diagnosed with a DVT from the ER. She never looked up from her tablet, kept getting confused which leg my blood clot was in and seemed unsympathetic or cared in general what was going on. I left in tears. If you care about getting decent care from an intelligent doctor who cares about their patients, Dr. Reyes is not the person to go to.

Getting in to see a great internist is difficult, so I'm willing to settle for someone who is merely competent. If all you need is BP med, an occasional sick visit, and entre to specialists, Dr. Reyes fits the bill. She practices medicine by checklist and rarely looks up from her tablet, but she allows me to actively participate in my care decisions. I don't need touchy feely, but I do expect to be treated like an intelligent person with the right to make choices about my care. She is that person and I will return to her.

This was my first time seeing Dr. Reyes. The staff was abnormally friendly and I had practically no wait time. However my actually appointment was extremely rushed. I had an annual physical done in about six minutes. The only words I could get in were "Yes" or "No". Not a personable experience at all.

Worst office I've ever been too. Staff doesn't know what they are doing. Dr Reyes practices medicine from a checklist - horrific experience
