My experience with this psychologist was extremely disappointing. From the moment I walked in, I felt judged rather than supported. For example, I mentioned that I don’t enjoy driving in big cities, and she documented in my chart that I’m “terrified of driving,” which was inaccurate and misleading. She also made unprofessional comments about my appearance, stating my freshly washed and dyed hair looked “greasy and unwashed,” and even went so far as to ask if my partner had an intellectual disability — which was offensive and completely inappropriate. She presented herself as if she were superior because of her PhD, often mentioning how many patients she had as a reason I should “just trust her.” If you don’t provide every single detail exactly as she wants, she labels you as not understanding the surgery process. Despite saying she wanted another visit to get to know me better, she never followed through and ignored phone calls. This provider is supposed to offer a safe and… supportive space, especially for patients preparing for weight loss surgery, but instead I left feeling judged, dismissed, and uncomfortable. I would not recommend her to anyone — I wouldn’t even send my worst enemy.
