Dr. Rafael C. Cabrera has been practicing Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Boca Raton since 1997. He is on staff exclusively at Boca Raton Community Hospital. Dr. Cabrera is board certified in general surgery and plastic surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), a Maliniac Fellow in the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation (PSEF), Secretary/Treasurer of the Palm Beach Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (PBSRPS) since 2005, member of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 2001. Dr. Cabrera currently serves on multiple hospital committees including the Medical Ethics Committee and Operating Room Committee.

Dr. Cabrera received his BA with Distinction from Cornell University in 1985 before graduating from New York University School of Medicine in 1989. Dr. Cabrera completed his Surgery …Residency and Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the New York University Medical Center Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. Dr. Cabrera also completed the Research Fellowship in Scarless Wound Healing at New York University Medical Center.

Dr. Cabrera is not a “cosmetic” surgeon. He is a surgeon alright. The reason I am saying that he is not a “cosmetic” is because Dr. Cabrera left the shape of my breast with a boxy and very flat shape after a breast reduction surgery. Dr. Cabrera left the scars sitting high almost in the middle of the breast instead in the fold of the breast. The nipples are not centered. Dr. Cabrera used the wise keyhole pattern technique that is mostly used for cancer patients. I have constant pain along the lateral chest area due to the scar tissue developed after the surgery. I must have a corrective revision breast reduction surgery. Dr. Cabrera is willing to redo the surgery but since I had very bad experience with Dr. Cabrera after the surgery. I am not willing to submit myself to another surgery with Dr. Rafael Cabrera. The surgery with Dr. Cabrera cost me more than $10K and now I have to expand more money in the revision of my breast. I am very sad and I take responsibility that I have to… another surgery because I did not do my homework regarding the expertise of this surgeon.

After 6 months, 3" scar on face almost non-existent!

VERY DISSATIFIED with upper and lower eyelid surgery. Dr. Cabrera told me I looked tired and recommened the surgery. Eyelids are a little softer under my eyes but now he tightened up everything at the corners of my eyes. I have HUGE lumps/unsitely scar tissue at the outer corners of my eyes and people comment all the time. !! My eyelids are still red and swollen after almost 1 year. So sorry I did this surgery with him. When I called with a problem post op over the weekend I never recieved a return phone call until the office opened on Mon. morning despite being assured that they were available around the clock.Once surgery was completed and paid in full I was no longer their concern. Run don't walk to another surgeon.

As a diabetic I expected a long healing process and a big scar ---none of which happened. No scar and fast healing.

Amazing, extremely honest, and very detail oriented.. He tells you what you need and that's it not like these other doctors that are out to get you no matter what the cost, which in Boca is a very unnatural look. Staff is great all the way from the front desk to the medical staff. Highly recommended
