Dr. Rafael Federico Rivas Chacon, MD

Zero bedside manner, zero. Rude. Condescending. Always makes you wait 2-3 hours even with an appointment. I would not recommend him. We didn't have a choice at the time. He was assigned to us at the hospital and there were only 2 pediatric rheumatologists in Miami at the time. As the mother of the patient, he made me cry more than once because of his treatment of me! I have never had that experience with any doctor, of any of my four children, or myself. Total lack of care or empathy/sympathy.

Told us that that child is pretending to have symptoms for "attention" or implied mother's looking for "attention". Did not even do a biopsy & implied child lied about pain & symptoms; because does not look depressed or stressed enough. I wouldn't trust my child's healthcare on someone that lacks compassion & acted in a disingenuous manner; whom instead of looking for answers pretends he knows it all just by looking at someone & at parent to make assumptions & then say give the child Tylenol while practically dismissing what was talked about. Taking my child somewhere else where can be treated with decency. I guess my child will be depressed now after such horrible experience. First time my child has been treated that way after seeing many doctors. Go get care with someone that truly cares.

At the age of ten my daughter started suffering from juvenile Rheumatoid, he stared treatment my girls and now days she is having a normal life she is twenty years old thanks to Dr Rivas Chacon she can have a normal life after all the treatment .

This doctor is extremely arrogant and condescending. I would never refer anyone to him. My daughter was admitted to Miami childrens hospital and he was assigned to her case. Which is the only reason I had the unfortunate reason to interact with him. He ordered blood work for my daughter and when she heard she started to cry. I tried comforting her and I could see he was getting irritated with her reaction and prooceeded to tell her that she needed to stop crying and get use to it hecause she would need to come back every 2 weeks to get more blood work. That made my child even more upset. That is not the only time nor thing he did to upset my child. Further he refused to call me back with test results. I ended up cancelling the appointment to which he got extremely angry and called to proceed and insult me because of it. I dont recommend this man, specially for a child. Please see someone else for your childs best interest.

Medical not advisable. You always wait more than 2 and a half hours. Since I began to consult with him, my health deteriorated rapidly to the point that after a treatment that he indicated in a way that was not completely correct, he ended up several times in emergency and did not do absolutely nothing to help me.It is a doctor of little human thickness, irresponsible, limited knowledge, superficial and very arrogant. Office staff indifferent and make many mistakes.

I have been to this doctor twice and both times I was in the office for over 3 hours. I understand having delays, but that's crazy. Many of the symptoms that were mentioned in past appointments have shown up on paperwork saying they are not present. Spelling errors, major wording errors in the chart notes I was given. My husband, a medical professional, accompanied me today thinking my first appointment comments were a little drastic. He concurred we will be looking for another office after our visit today.

Dr. Chacon is very compassionate and professional. We waited three hours to see him but it was worth the wait. Dr. Chacon took his time with us and answered all of our questions. After seeing four different specialist Dr. Chacon was able to put us at ease and give us a sense of peace. I highly recommend him and will be forever grateful for his patience, knowledge and compassion. He is an excellent physician and human being. Well worth the wait!

Terrible service starting from front desk for first time not a good first impression... Wouldn't recommend to anybody worst service ever

Dr Chacon has been very nice professional and has attempted to help in accurately diagnose my daughter. I Do unfortunately have to say that his office staff has been less than helpful, has not assisted in any way of obtaining medical records that were requested by previous physician to have been faxed to Dr Chacon for his review, even after his request to his own staff in obtaining to order to not put her through very expensive and stressful diagnostics for her my daughter. The staff also refused to write any form of documentation stating that my daughter was under the care of Dr. Chacon for her school to advise she would have further up evaluationd and appointments which may unfortunately scheduled during school hours however be followed up with the days documentation. I love the Dr but once obtaining the diagnosis we will not stay with him due to the chronic unprofessional treatment by his staff. No family of a sick child wants to be in the position and look for the helo and… assistance of a physicians staff to make things less stressful and smooth for everyone involved.
