Dr. Rafid Jabar Kakel

I saw Dr. Kakel in urgent care for back pain. Despite only knowing me for a few minutes, he decided that he knew better than my PCP and the specialists I've been seeing for years and that I shouldn't be on all the medications I am taking. He tried to prescribe me a medication that is contraindicated due to my ulcerative colitis, and then tried to tell me that the UC diagnosis was probably incorrect (in which case, I guess all those colonoscopies I've been getting for the last 30 years have been a waste of time). He told me things that I knew for a fact were false about how I could not have both UC and psoriatic arthritis (despite the fact that autoimmune comorbidities are actually quite common), and finally, and most appallingly, when he noted that I am prescribed an antidepressant, he said, and I quote, "Nobody cares about that. The meds will help a little, but you really just need to change your mindset." Being as he is not a rheumatologist, gastroenterologist, psychiatrist, or my… primary care doctor, Dr. Kakel really needed to stay in his lane. I do think his diagnosis of my back pain was correct, but otherwise, it was a terrible visit and if I ever need to return to urgent care, I will be sure to avoid him.

He did not provide me with any plan, did not explain to me what was going on or what to do, and did not get me what I had requested in terms of documentation

He work for insurance not for the patients. He don't care the patients. I met him only once then he said Im not eligible for my workers com and he don't even know how my PAIN is... He works in Insurance Company not a PATIENTS.

Dr. Kakel; spent much time and patience talking to me about my ailments. He was not judgemental but understanding. Excellent visit!

If I could give this supposed doctor zero stars I would. He thinks he knows better than my own PCP. He has never seen me as a patient and has no idea of the pain I am in on a regular basis.

Dismissed my problems, was not thorough. Came across rude and uncaring.
