Dr. Rafiq Ahmad Mian, MD

I have never been so uncomfortable in a doctors office. The intake process happens at the registration desk, so anyone checking in can hear every answer. There is zero privacy. The waiting room is dark and dingy with paint chipping and worn chairs. The exam rooms are no better. They attempted to force unnecessary testing on me without explanation or my consent and there was no discussion with the doctor beforehand. When I asked why I would need the tests, I was told “that’s just how he does it.” Plus you have to schedule a follow up appointment to get your lab results which is entirely unnecessary. When I explained my discomfort to Dr. Mian, he said that’s just the way it was The staff are nice so that’s the only plus but Dr Mian himself was curt and clearly does not care about his patients and their experiences. Do not go here.

He is like a dad to me. Very caring, he always makes me to laugh a lot. He appointment are always pleasant.

When I was 12 years old (I am 22 now), I had surgery for an ovarian cyst at Holy Cross hospital. The day after my surgery, this ‘doctor’ came to visit me. As he was looking at my incision, I told him that the nurse told me that the surgical tape would fall off when I showered. Instead of leaving it alone. He began to rip off the pieces of surgical tape and even used a PEN he had placed behind his ear to lift off the tape from my incision. It was extremely painful, and I held my mothers hand as I tried not to scream. I didn’t say anything as I trusted him as a doctor, and my mother couldn’t say anything as she does not speak English and is very shy. At that age I didn’t know how to defend myself, but now that I am older I realize I need to say something. I remember what he did to me and it is important for people to know as well.

Simply put-he is the very best OB/GYN MD. He doesn’t leave until all questions/concerns are addressed.
