Dr. Rahul Kumar Kakkar, MD

I have been with Dr. Kakkar for over 2 years. He is a very through doctor and he is a doctor who will actually sit and talk with you and explain the situation. Couldn't have found a better doctor for my pulmonary issues.

My husband was in the Erwin NC office today for a post hospital follow up appt. After waiting over an hour, we saw a PA by the name of Dan who was very thorough. He changed one of my husbands prescriptions but the person to whom the paperwork was given did not even send the medicine change over to my pharmacy. Upon checking with my pharmacy to make sure it was received, I called the office of Dr Kakkar with no success. They have no one to follow up with on Friday afternoons. So hope they have a good weekend even if their patients are left hanging.

I have been seeing Dr. Kakkar for almost 3 months. Dr. Kakkar is great but everything else has been frustrating. From trying to schedule an appointment for my sleep study to getting approval from insurance on new medications. I had a lady call to schedule my sleep study while I was IN the office doing the computer test. I didn’t know it because I had my phone was in silent. At checkout I asked about scheduling the sleep study and they told me it couldn’t be done and I’d hear from someone within the week. 2 weeks later I called them back and was able to schedule. I have left several voice mails that have not been returned. I feel like there are ‘too many hands in the pot’ when it comes to office staff so things get forgotten and overlooked.

This appointment was the most unorganized place I’ve ever been. Mis-billing, wrong paperwork, long wait times. Do yourself a favor a avoid this place.

Waited 2 hours after my appointment time just to be called back. I was told the dr requests his schedule to be this way. No respect for other people’s time.

This physician should find another profession. He yells at staff in front of patients which made me uncomfortable. Talks bad about “incompetent staff “ to patients. I feel bad for his employees.

Dr. Kakkar is an extremely good listener, honest and forthright person, which are crucial assets to find in a doctor! With any questions, he spends the time required to explain about my condition or medicine. Being a patient of his for approximately five years and feel confident with the medical care provided by him. The staff is professional, helpful, and yet friendly. Minimal waiting. I would highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Karkkar, is easy going and a very competent doctor. His listening skills are phenomenal and on point; he actively listens with a passion for his craft all while having the manners of someone you can trust.

A great doc spends time with you and listens compassionate and through.
