Dr. Rahul Shankar Koushik, MD

I wish I could give negative star. This doctor is awful he just determines in his mind what you have without getting and testing or imaging done. He then refuses to bring in any other doctors. He also does not take into consideration the patients advocating their symptoms or their past dealing in history. I have a long medical. History have seen well over 50 doctors and this is by far the worst one I’ve ever seen.

IF YOUR PARENT HAS PARKINSONS DISEASE OR DEMENTIA DO NOT USE DR. KOUSHIK!!! Even after telling him my father cannot have Haldol it was given to him again. When asked why it was given again even though orders in the chart instruct not to give, he stated "Doctors don't have time to look at the charts" and that they "give dementia patients Haldol all the time", Haldol is strictly not to be given to Parkinsons and dementia patients because of the high risk of death. My fathers carbodopa levodopa was given wrong and he wouldn't listen saying it was fine. Uncaring, doesn't listen or care about his patients.

Dr Koushik is a wonderful caring doctor who listens to his patients. I am sad he left the group that was on my insurance.

Dr. Koushik is the best doctor my parents have & quite possibly ever. He started treating my dad for kidney disease & now treats my my as well. When my father was in the hospital, he would seek me out & was available whenever we needed him. He is professional, kind, & thorough. He takes time to listen to every concern and to educate. This is no small task, especially with older people. He has helped me BEYOND measure to understand what is going on with my parent and how to help them. I did not realize he was also an internist but it makes sense now.

Dr. Koushik is extremely exceptional as a physician. We need so many more like him. He has been caring for my 94 year old Dad for about 3 years and has an amazing ability to get through to him while joking around with him also. Great bedside manner. He has helped to get Dad's meds limited and managed the interactions of all the different meds from different specialists to keep him from taking meds that have been harming his kidneys. Can not say enough about him.
