Dr. Rahul A. Shimpi

Dr. Shimpi did an Upper GI Endoscopy on me, and he implanted a sensor in my esophagus to record acid level. Dr. Shimpi was courteous, thoughtful and very through in his communication to me and my wife. I received more than I had hoped for by his evaluation. He discovered a bacterial infection in my stomach, as well as stomach ulcers, when I went in worried about my esophagus. I had no complications from the procedure and was more than satisfied. Should I need more evaluation, I intend to request that the procedures be performed by Dr. Shimpi .

A+ doctor. Courteous with great bedside manner. I couldn't be happier with the care I received.

Terrible doctor. Was in his care for a few months during college. Did not go the extra mile to figure out what was wrong with me. I was vomiting after every meal. Told me I was to young to have digestive problems. On my last visit he told me it was stress and that he did not know what else to do with me. Left crying found another doctor and ended up having blockages in my bile ducts. That doctor fixed everything. Do NOT go to Shimpi he is terrible and rude. He was so bad that I filed a formal complaint against his through Duke Hospital.
