My Practice Philosophy

I am an Emergency Medicine physician at the Sacramento and Roseville facilities. This means that I work in the Emergency Department and provide care to patients who unexpectedly become sick or injured, or who experience deterioration in their chronic medical condition(s). This is a challenging, yet an extremely rewarding job. I feel privileged to be trusted to direct the treatment of and guide my patients and family through the tough decisions that sometimes have to be made. Many emergency conditions are ultimately treatable but often provoke patients and their family and friends to reassess their health status. I am an advocate of smoking cessation, a healthy diet, and an active lifestyle. It is encouraging to be able to support patients who take these issues seriously and seek to make positive changes in their life. Kaiser Permanente has many health education programs available to its members and I urge all its members to take advantage of their benefits.

My …Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

While in medical training I was exposed to many different models of healthcare and was most impressed by the Kaiser Permanente system. The integration of care unique to Kaiser Permanente is unsurpassed. Kaiser Permanente is continuously striving to improve its quality of care and builds on input from both members and physicians to achieve this. After 5 years of being a Kaiser Permanente physician, I remain proud to be part of an organization that was deservingly voted in the top ten of the United States healthcare systems by one of the leading consumer reporting magazines in the nation.

My Personal History

My husband and I feel especially blessed by our family. We have 2 young children who enjoy crazy days at various parks, pools, the zoo, Fairytale town, and Funderland. These exhausting trips are also wonderfully refreshing. Family is definitely a priority for me. I don't believe I'll ever look back on my life and say, “I wish I had cleaned house more,” but I very well may say, “I wish I had done more with my family.” The little time I can carve away from my family and job, I like to spend indulging my fascination with fantasy science fiction novels. George R. R. Martin, Robert Jordan, and Terry Goodkind are amongst my favorite authors. It is very important to me also to stay fit. I enjoy walks around the neighborhood and the many aerobic classes at my local 24 Hour Fitness center. It will be a treat if all you Kaiser members join me in my exercise endeavors!!
