Dr. Rajan Kumar Sareen, MD

Changes to front desk personnel shed a negative light on Dr. Rajan Sareen who has been our family doctor for three generations. The girl he has now at the front desk is rude and unkind, also very condescending. All I'm wanting is lab results from tests run more than two weeks ago and can't get them or the promised return call. Dr. Sareen's office always ran like a well oiled machine until this girl. Was even given prescriptions for another patient on a visit after she was hired. It's such a shame that someone with her disposition is representing Dr. Sareen's practice.

This Doctor has solved so many of my medical issues. He has always given me the time to discuss anything I need. He definitely cares about his patients and that is exactly what I look for in my doctors. I highly recommend him to anyone who need medical attention,

The exam room, the furniture, and restroom were very dirty. The girl that took me to the exam room did not introduce herself, or state what her title was. She did not close the door when she began asking me questions. She only spoke facing the computer screen, I could not hear, or understand what she was saying. I had to have her repeat what she was saying, which seemed to annoy her. She did not appear to want to hear anything I had to say, and did not get all of the information I needed to convey. She could not read the written list of my meds, stating she'd "broken her glasses". I had brought all of my meds with me, she typed the info into the computer without any apparent difficulty reading the small print on the labels. I suspect she cannot read script writing. When the doctor came into the room, he did introduce himself, but after that barely spoke to me. He ordered me to stand in front of what appeared to be an x-ray machine, I asked him what he was x-raying, he didn't tell me,… just told me to hold my arms up. He took a number of ex-rays, but did not tell me what the results were. He did not appear to want to hear anything I had to say, or even to want to speak to me. He left the room. I was apparently free to leave. A very unsatisfactory visit.

If I am sick, I never have to wait to schedule an appointment, he takes me right in same day. I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes in the office and that was as a walk-in patient. His staff is always friendly and helpful. Dr. Sareen sees all my family, so he will ask me how they are doing and spend time just chatting. His diagnosis is always right on the money and usually I am feeling better in no time. I highly recommend him as a doctor.

I took my son here for a checkup. We went into a room and waited a long time until the Dr showed up. He was very abrupt and impersonal. I also had trouble understanding him. He does not seem to like children and ignored my son totally. NO bedside manner at all.I mentioned that my son has ADHD and he told me to stop giving him sugar!!!I barely give my son any sugar. Even his juice is sugar free. And even IF I did it has been proven that sugar is not a stimulant. It is the activities surrounding the sugar (parties, trick or treating) that gets kids excited so it is proven a myth. He could have asked "do you give your son sugar? instead of accusing the ADHD on the large amounts of imaginary sugar he assumed I gave him.He was rude and my son was scared of him. He told me he really didn't want to see him again and I agreed. The Dr literally spent a total of 3 minutes in the room with us. I would advise another Dr, especially if you have children.Oh and the waiting room was VERY dirty when… I was there. Yuck!

I am new to the area and was referred to Dr. Sareen by a friend of my father. I had been having a pain around the cocycx area for about 3 days when I decided I needed to go see a doctor. Every morning I would awake to the pain getting stronger and stronger. I made an appoitment to go see Dr, Sareen on a Friday, I came in filled out the paperwork, payed up front (they dont except checks) and waited for my turn to see the doctor. At this point, I was in so much pain being even the littlest pressure around the cocycx area caused me excruciating pain. When I went in the office we did height and weight first, then he asked me to sit, I tryed to explain to him that I couldnt sit comfortably but he demanded "sit." So I did the best I could even though I was in pain then he allowed me to lay down, lifted my left leg first asked if it hurt, then lifted my right leg asked if it hurt. Then he told me that we were going to do x-rays. I cooperated and did everything he asked me. Quickly the x-rays… were up on the computer, he explained to me that my tailbone was neither broken or fractured but it was probably sprained (Thank God.) All of this took about 5 minutes. Then he proceeded with, "now im going to lecture you about your weight," he lectured me about 15 minutes about how americans are fat because we eat meat and that I need to only eat 2 meals a day late lunch and dinner. His diet plan included no eating after 6pm, If you have to hurt a living being to eat it that its not good for your body(ie any type of meat), and to drink 2 hot glasses of water every morning, with lime, to curb your appetite so you dont eat breakfast. It also include that women should not jog, only men. I knew I need to lose a couple lbs and its every doctors job to try to keep their patients as healthy as possible for our sakes. But, I didnt understand why this man spent very little time with me about my problem, with no concern of the pain I had been in for 3 days and 3 nights and that it was getting worse and worse. He didnt even take the time to examine the area. Instead he was using his time to lecture me not only about dieting but also about his beliefs as an indian man. He prescribed me tylenol 3 for pain, a muscle relaxer before bed, steroids, and a water pill for weight loss. I began taking the medicine and nothing was helping, and the pain kept getting worse and worse. The whole area was swollen and getting bigger by the second. I decided it was time to go back, I called made my appoitment and they decided on the phone it was time for a cortizone shot. I would do anything to ease the pain so I agreed. I waited about 30 minutes then a nurse called my name. Took me in the room asking my questions about my pain left the room and returned with Dr. Sareen. He entered the room asked "where does it hurt?" I pointed to the area and then he poked the area very hardly and said "here?" I responded, "yes." Then he got the nurse to pull my pants down as much as they could gave me the shot and left the room. I thought to myself that Id never had a shot given to me in that manner. Usually a doctor will give you a gown allow you to undress, examine the area then decide where the incision will go and explain and walk you through the whole thing, not Dr. Sareen. I went home and everything felt the same, I was in so much pain. I went home took a nap and woke up with RELIEF! I was so happy. That night my pain seemed to be going away, until I woke up at 3 am that morning crying and screaming. The area had become so swollen and I was in more pain then ever. I decided it was time to go see a different doctor. I went to a wonderful orthopedic doctor. They took x-rays and explained to me that everything look pretty normal but they needed to examine the area.(which dr.sareen failed to do.) He allowed me time to get undressed so he could fully examine and re-entered when I was ready. The doctor took one look at the area and said, "I know exactly what this is, its a Pilonidal Cyst." He told me I needed to go to the ER and have surgery before it gotten any bigger and he prescribed me some antibiotics to fight the infection. It took the doctor less than 1 minute of examining the area to determine what it was. I was angry because I had suffered 5 long nights and days trusting the word of Dr. Sareen and going beyond my better judgement. You would think a doctor with his extensive experience would know better than that. He was more concerned with lecturing me then what I had come to see him for and the fact that I was in constant pain. He litteraly had my bottom in his face when he stuck me with the shot and didnt even take any time to look at how swollen it was, or that maybe if the medicine wasnt working maybe it was something else. When I arrived at the E.R. it was 5 in the morning because I couldnt wait for the next day. The E.R. doctor told me he had never seen one that big and didnt understand why I hadnt came in earlier, especially with all the pain I had been feeling. I had to explain to him that I had been seeing a doctor whom I thought was taking care of me and I just had found out what was the real problem less than 12 hours before. I had the most painful surgery of my life to remove all the infection, pus, and cysts that had been infecting my body for the last week and everything was fine Finally, after the surgery I had some relief the nurse came in and began putting some medicine in my body. But, I couldnt help the anger I had for Dr. Sareen, what if he had examined me the first day I came in his office, we couldve caught the cyst and I wouldnt have went through that week of constant excruiciating pain, with no antibiotics or anything to fight infection. Dr. Sareen did not care for me or my pain and suffering. He only cared about how fast he could be done with this patient and on to the next. He was always very rude and short with me
