Dr. Rajbala Thakur, MD

I'm a 76 yr old man with chronic hip pain. I've been on 10 mg Percoset 3-4 times per day for years with good results. I can play a little tennis, walk, ride a bike with few side effects. During yesterday's exam she tried to convine me that 5 mg Percoset was just as good as 10 mg. Well, any 1st grader can tell you its only half as good. My brother is a Board Certified oncolodgist and doesn't understand why she would want to change my regimine after all these years. All she succeded in doing was to cause me a great deal of anxiety. She said she wanted to protect my health. My health is fine, my heart, blood pressure fine, diabetes fine. I have severe gluacoma and soon will not be able to play tennis so she in effect is denying my a few monthes more to play. Why did she have to lie to me? I went to college. I was a writer for 40 yrs, I know the difference between 5 and ten of anything. Perhaps she needs a tutorial in basic arithmetic. Roger Berger

Whether you worked in the medical field before or just relativley naive to it. Seems like the medicaid patients of hers have been able to see through her.... don't bother wasting your time... she undermines medical diagnostics, and seems to be more concerned about other things, if they suite her "debate".... she is not a D.O. she is an Anesthesiologist.... seems like people can see why.

Please read the rest of her reviews. I was happy to know that I wasn't the only one who felt the same way about her rude condescending demeanor. We are all unique individuals. Since when does one pill fit all ? I read and realized this doctor really has a serious problem with her personality. We were not raised in INDIA as she may have been. We may expect and rightly so a better degree of help and pain control from our PAIN SPECIALISTS. I am in pain, and intelligent enough to weigh the risks against the benefits. I can either sit around and be in crippling pain or I can try and find a pain specialist to help me. First and foremost Dr. Thakur needs to remember SHE does not know all ! I do not need this doctor to seriously meddle in my life by adding this inaccurate diagnosis to my medical chart. A misdiagnosis that will forever follow me the rest of my life. "How dare you!" Dr. Thakur. When my GP saw it he laughed. Must I now be ridiculed? You have betrayed our implied bond of trust. I… will legally fight to have this removed. Im sure there is a attorney out there to help me. Have the rest of you noticed, we are becoming a nation of people governed and affected by this so called (upper echelon, the AMA.)labeled and filed to what ends?

Dr. Thakur is amazing. Her treatment had an enormous positive impact on my quality of life. She is competent and caring and completely professional. I think some patients expect a doctor to ask to see pictures of your vacation or ask about your grandchildren. Dr. Thakur uses her time to help people instead of making meaningless chitchat. And that is fine with me. If you need a pain management specialist, she is the best! Very highly recommended!

Dr. Thakur is the absolute best. She is tough yet understanding and works with me to establish a treatment plan that is in my best interest.

I have tried to forget this horrible doctor through the years, she makes a great living given expensive injections. Rude, uncaring. After my last injection, I stayed why I don't know for a few injections, but the last one, she injected me in the worst part of my back, and pierced a large nerve. That is when I started to use my cane. The pain was worse then when I came in. She thinks patients, are lying to her about their pain. She pushes injections, because that is where the money is, not writing scripts. The staff was nice, she would say things like, I know one of my patients who still works and has spinabifda, and I said, that's great what has that got to do with me, because she can work, the rest of us are whinning. Please stay as far away from this doctor, who I think enjoys seeing patients in pain, and knows she can be the way she is, because you are seeking pain relief, and you tolerate her bad behavior, I hope anyone who is sent to her, and sees this, run, don't walk,… even if you are using a walker, if you can only crawl, do that as long as it is away from her. she crippled me for life. She has a big ego. I can't give her zero stars because this site wont let me. I have a medical background, and seen and been to more doctors and also worked with them, never had one like this, hope I never do again.

i am currently Dr. Thakur's patient but am having second thoughts as to staying that way. The office staff at the U of R clinic is wonderful and do all they can to be of assistance. However, the waiting period can be lengthy once you are taken back to an exam room. Two weeks ago, my appt was at 1pm and Dr. Thakur did not materialize until 2:10p. Once my appt was over, I waited another 40 minutes for the resident to write two scripts. I did not leave their office until 3:15p! When I initially began seeing Dr. Thakur, I was on an unusually high dose of opiates for pain management due to an autoimmune disease that I have (I have an extremely high tolerance level) and Dr. Thaler wanted to wean me down...she promised me she would not leave me in pain. At this point, I have my doubts about that and am frustrated and scared. Her tag line is always " we want to get you to an acceptable level of medication". What defines "acceptable" - when I have minimal pain or when I am taking a… dose of medication that is viewed as acceptable for a typical patient...regardless of my pain level? She keeps decreasing the dosage; I am at half of what I was taking when I initially met Dr. Thakur at the beginning of November...and my pain level has increased, my level of activity decreased. She can be arrogant and condescending; once telling me I was being "dramatic". I was simply trying to explain to her how it was to live with the pain. You also must be active in your care and look at the scripts prior to departing; there is a revolving door of residents and they will screw up writing scripts. I am terrified that Dr. Thakur's only objective is to wean me down to a minimal dose of medication that will leave me with constant stiffness and joint pain. She honestly does not seem to care about the pain level...if you try to explain, you run the risk of being "dramatic". I would say to pass her by and seek another physician.

She shouldnt be allowed to treat dogs at the pound let alone people! Spent 5 minutes with me, dismissed me as "being on pain meds too long to be able to help me"!!! Excuse me but isnt she a pain dr??? I stormed out telling her not to bother to send a bill. She didnt. What a QUACK! No compassion or caring whatsoever. Skip this one.
