Dr. Rajeev Buddi, MD

He botched my retinal re-attachment (detachment happened while he was conducting ANOTHER type of surgery). Long story short, I lost vision in said eye. I wish I could sue.

He and Vikrant Dontamsetti DO are the worst Eye Doctors in this state. He almost blinded me after a procedure he did on me. His partner Vikrant Dontamsetti is rude and made a sexual advance to me.

Doctor was extremely knowledgeable, and handled my case immediately. Explained what was to happen during the procedure, and had a great follow up visit as well. Highly recommend.

How do you describe a surgeon who leaves you partially blind? "Incompetent" is too kind of word.

He should have his license pulled.

His epiretinal membrane peel surgery caused me permanent vision loss. Cannot be helped w/optics. I got his runaround re my symptoms (blurry vision in center vision after surgery) for almost a year. 2 times he said it was a cataract & sent me back the optometrist. 2 times it wasn't cataracts. He also ordered a vision field exam, which optometrist diagnosed as an "unknown irregularity." I had to beg Buddi to tell me what this unknown irregularity was. He put me thru a fluorescein ($500), which proved no brain tumor. So, what caused this "unknown irregularity?" He doesn't care about patients after surgery -- he just rushes you thru. He knew he screwed up in my situation & kept me running around hoping I'd go away. There's no margin for error in this line of work. Maybe this surgery is too complicated for him.

Thanks to those for posting your helpful reviews re the "mistakes" this doc made on you. It must be very difficult to go thru eye surgery (in the belief you'd preserve your eye sight) to end up it being worse. In a climate where it is almost impossible to sue for medical "mistakes," we must be diligent in finding a good surgeon, even if it means traveling to Johns Hopkins! Eyesight is just too precious.

He botched my retina surgery. Now partially blind in my lower peripheral vision. This should never have happened.

I have macular degeneration. Dr Buddi told me what to look for as far as progression is concerned. He gave me a shot in my left eye and that shot brought back my vision that I had lost in that eye. Dr Buddi answers all of my questions when I ask. I would recommend DR Buddi. In fact my wife has cataracts and when she gets to the point where she needs surgery she will have Dr Buddi do it.

The worst experience EVER w/an MD. If you want worse vision (in my case partial, permanent blindness) after surgery than before surgery, then choose him. After a year, I'm left to speculate that my vision loss had something to do w/my retina detaching during surgery & the reattachment went wrong. He NEVER told me my retina detached -- it was the optometrist who told me 6 months later as he was reading the surgical notes. He'll not look you in the eye (no pun intended) as you're given CYA explanations. I was always talking or listening to his back. Too bad there's no way to know of the less than mediocre practitioners until it's too late.
