Dr. Rajendra Anant Karkare, MD

I have been with this doctor for about three yrs,but am now dropping him. He is unable to keep staff and has had about five turnovers in thwo years. Initially he seemed like a caring doctor,but I soon learned otherwise. His lack pf attention to what turned out to be a bacterial infection of my digestive system put me in the hospital last year. I have third stage kidney disease,but aside from continuing to prescribe the same diuretics prescribed by a nephrologist three yearsa go,he has done nothing to follow up on that disease;I even had to ask him to run ablood test to check kidney function. The final blow came today,I have been having problems with water retention I went to see him today,after waiting forty minutes for him,he spent all of seven minutes with me prescribing anew diuretic to be taken for one week on a trial basis,and the antibiotic Acyclovir for a supposed herpetic infection on my legs( I happen to be a microbiologist and I know it is not a herpetic infection,so he… prescribed the wrong antibiotic) In addition I have GEQRD for which he prescribed what is essentially on over the counter drug Formatidin which now doesn't seem to be working. I could go on,but my final word is this--stay away from this doctor,I don't think he really carea abi=out his patients,I think he is "burning out"

Office staff Carol is rude and unprofessional.

Office manager very rude and unprofessional. Said she is understaffed up requesting services.

Dr. Karkare sees our family and I am very happy he is very thorough in trying to find what is really wrong. Not like other doctors that just prescribe meds. He truly cares for his patients.

Dr Karkare is a caring physician who takes time to listen. I have never felt rushed or less than cared for and respected.

I would reccomend Dr. Karkare to anyone looking for a primary doctor. He is very polite and very knowledgeable and he listens to you. Also, his staoff is very polite as well and that makes all the difference as you are recovering from being ill.

I started Seeing the MD after a stay in Largo med several years ago, at that time he appeared to be a caring and thoughtful MD and I recommended him to my husband who has many medical problems, he was always late at that time but his staff was always knowledgeable and competent. Since his move to his current location he has been though several front office staff that have little knowledge of the medical system. If it wasn't for his Nurse nothing would get done. He Blew off my Husbands pain for over a year.. diagnosed as a torn tendon.. finally He has turned me away from the idea of Primary care. Even after several years of going to his office he has little idea of my medical needs.

I have been a patient of Dr. Karkare for many years. So much has changed in the office and not all for the good. I am now considering looking for another doctor. To start, it is very unprofessional for a doctor to be continuously late every morning (30 mins- 1 hour late) when I have an appointment anywhere between 9 am - 9:45 am and then only spend maybe 5-10 mins with me. Now lets talk about the staff. I have never seen a doctor's office with such a staff turnover in all my life. There is only one staff member (Patty) who is consistently there, has a great personality and is always happy to help me. She is also excellent at drawing my blood and giving me shots. The other girl (Amanda) who rooms patient's, has no personality at all. She is also not very good at giving shots. I always request that Patty give me my shots, even if I have to wait for her to be free. Next, lets talk about the restroom for patient's. The cleanliness is unacceptable. I do not wish to enter the restroom to… find that the last patient had a bowel movement and did not bother to flush the toilet. If I do not see any changes at my next appointment, I will be changing doctor's and will advise my insurance company Aetna as to the reasons why. I don't know if Dr. Karkare takes the time to read this, however he really should if he does not wish to loose more patient's.

I have been seeing Dr. Karkare for about 10 years. He is a good doctor, except for being late in the morning. One of my concerns is how his staff keeps changing. When I call the office, it seems like he has all new people. The only original person on his staff is his nurse Patty. She is great, kind, caring, very understanding & dependable. I don't know what Dr. Karkare would do without her.

The staff is terrible. They are too busy on their little phones and chatting about their up coming events. When you walk in, they look at you with a blank stare. Patricia is probably the worst I have ever dealt with as far as a nursed is concerned. She needs to understand that the patient is the boss. She does not listen!!!!! The patient has hired the Dr. for is services. If all the patients go to another Dr, then she is in the unemployment line.
