If I could leave 0 stars, I would. They called it giving my dad a chance - no, it was their chance to experiment. My dad was a case study, not a patient with specific needs. My father suffered in agony every minute of every day for a month in the ICU to maximum support, enduring a PCI, TAVR, repeated heart attacks, and four flatlines in the OR. Despite never once seeing my dad in person before surgery, Makkar and his team insisted we book him immediately, assuring us it made no difference if he saw him or not. We did our due diligence and visited other hospitals and doctors. Three other doctors took the time to evaluate my father in person. One, who even actually acted ethically, refused the surgery 2x - said it would only prolong suffering. They were right. My dad died with bedsores, many lines, and nothing left of his dignity. If you just want something done without caring about the consequences, go for it.
