Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Varma, MD

This Dr should retire, he is awful, mean , condescending, arrogant, and has no clue what he is talking about. We went to see him for my daughter's tourrets syndrome. He did nothing to help her told me to go the the tourrets clinic, when i asked his nurse on the way out she said I've never heard of that clinic. What a joke. I wish i could give him no stars.

While I don't doubt that Dr. Varma is intelligent, his bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. He prescribed a drug for my daughter that caused temporary and permanent side effects. As soon as I sensed something was wrong, I begged him to wean her off the drug; he was very condescending and said I was overreacting and my daughter's symptoms were just teenage moodiness. Thank goodness one of his staff suggested I see someone else. The temporary symptoms disappeared within days of getting her off of the drug. Unfortunately the permanent symptoms will never go away, and for this I hold Dr. Varma totally responsible. Please please go see someone else. It's not worth hurting your child.

After waiting 1 hour and 20 min in the exam room, Dr. Varma came in with no introduction. He then proceeded to tell me that he was not qualified to care for my child but that he'd see her for today then get her in with someone else. I then politely stated that her school was insistant on an action plan for her. He stopped me mid sentence and ORDERED me not to speak and that I needed to let him do his thing and until he was finished to sit quiet and told me that I had better be willing to work together on this. STOP THE PRESSES!!! I had not disrespected, cut off, or pushed him in ANY WAY! Where did this come from??? My mother and child were right there, my moms jaw dropped. He was arrogant, condescending and unprofessional. I FO NOT recommend him to ANYONE!

I was fortunate to have Dr. Varma as my children's Neurologist. Unfortunately my children are now too old to continue with Dr. Varma. He is greatly missed and I wish I could still be using him.
