Dr. Rakesh Talati, MD

This man went to business school at UMass directly after completion of his residency and has primarily been on the business end of medicine. He was argumentative in the ER patient room because I am a highly educated patient who has been through a major catastrophic injury/surgery already and was told by the first " doctor" that as a Nurse Practitioner that he was "the same as a doctor but was called a Nurse practitioner".When Dr. Talati found out who my surgeon was, he ceased his arguing, because he recognized the name as a highly regarded one, but refused to do the standard diagnostic procedure for what the highest risk was for my presenting injury -- an MRI to rule out more glass fragments in my body, one of which had been removed the previous week by a different ER doc. I've had to call back because the pain is unabating & if there is glass remaining, could be causing further injury. He is refusing to order the MRI by calling it " routine". I will have to drive 2 hours to get into a… Harvard Med area hospital. Check his backround on Linked In. As soon as he completed his residency, somewhere in Orlando, he entered a 3rd rate business school. I know it well, as I was faculty at the same university. Be forewarned! He runs this inept ER in Greenfield, MA--Franklin County Medical Center. If you get him as a doctor or a loved one is under his " care", persist, do not trust his diagnoses, go someplace else.
