Dr. Rakesh Vidya Vakhariya, DO

I have been to two other pain clinics for head and neck pain and Pain Clinic of Michigan is the best and without the drama. Dr Vakhariya is very patient, professional and personable. He listens to you, answers all your questions and offers viable and safe solutions. His office and surgical staff are friendly and helpful. As you know sitting in a waiting room can be an unpleasant and physically painful experience, however the Pain Clinic of Michigan office visits and surgeries that I experienced were on time and not rushed. For the reasons above, I highly recommend Dr. Vakhariya and the Pain Clinic of Michigan.

I am so angry right now with the way I've been treated by this office. His office staff, especially Marissa (I believe this is her name), is BEYOND rude and unprofessional. She actually hung up on me when I am in excruciating pain with an abscess underneath my bone, simply asking to get in a couple days earlier to be seen because I can no longer sleep at night with the pain and am falling asleep while driving and working. She was adamant that I had to prove why I needed to be seen earlier, which is the most insensitive thing even though I had my oral surgeon send over notes regarding my CT scan. She also refused to give my message to the office manager and denied allowing me to speak with her. I would lose my job if I treated people that way. After she hung up on me, I then had 2 missed calls from them shortly after with no voicemail, so I attempted to call back a couple hours later and they intentionally put me on hold twice without answering the phone, I'm assuming so I would hang… up. I know this to be the case as I called from another number at the same time and was NOT put on hold. The unprofessionalism is mind-blowing. They don't understand pain at all, nor do they care about patients. They want you to prove to them why you're in the amount of pain you're in or they won't treat you in a timely manner, even if you're already a patient and already being treated there! I NEVER had to "prove" myself with my first pain doctor. At my last appointment, Dr. Vakhariya told me that if I needed to get in sooner, I could always call and he'd get me right back in. Now that I am trying to do so, I am met with unbelievably insensitive and careless resistance. He won't speak with me and neither will any representative of the office. I'm so incredibly unhappy with the way I've been treated and spoken to.

The best pain Dr I have ever had he knows his stuff and through injections and proper meds my pain is minimal

I have never gone before to a specialist for my back except his older partner who retired awhile back and with the pain of herniated discs I was a little afraid to switch to a new doctor. But his partner was happy with my choice and now it seems that I've never seen anyone else before. I have since herniated another disc that involves another complication and it was more frightening than my first herniated disc as I had more numbness and fell very easily. Dr. Vakhariya with his quiet and confident manner soon put me at ease and took me from a very possible surgical outcome to treating me himself with a series of lumbar spinal epidurals that go directly into the disc. I was soon out of trouble and though I still have a few flare-ups from time to time and still get some epidurals, he has been able to calm the whole condition down to the point I forget sometimes that I still have a condition. It has been 3 years now since I herniated the disc and I'm quite sure at this point I will… never have to see a surgeon. So I know that I have the best possible doctor for my condition and trust him with all my heart.. There is no way I'd be happy with anyone else. So Dr. V will never be able to retire!

Dr. Vakhariya is one of the best! He listens, he cares, and he is always available to answer questions. He has been doing my back injections for years and I wouldn't trust anybody else with my spine. If you need injections he is the guy! He treats with kindness and respect! Highly recommend this pain doctor!

Dr. Vakhariya has been my pain management doctor for several years now. He is a good listener and takes my concerns very seriously. He has personally called me by phone when I've had problems with pain. I make a 2 hour drive from Pt. Huron to see Dr. V., because he is the very best. It's hard to find a good doctor and one that you can depend on. This doctor is great with his patients!
