Dr. Ralf Christian Zimmermann, MD

Dr.Zimmermann is very thorough and compassionate in his approach to patient care. He strives to meet the needs of his patients and personalized his interactions during the appointments. It has been a great experience over the past year of working with him undergoing fertility treatments. ??

Dr. Zimmerman appears to truly care about the patient, he is willing to explain the mechanics of the procedures and honest about the process and your chances of success. I never felt rushed off and he is very kind and patient during our appointments. Some doctors rush you off or make you feel like you shouldn't ask them questions at. I very much like his approach. He is also very pleasant during examination walking you through what he is seeing unlike others that get in and out and not giving any context. The office administration is really not run by the doctors so i think thats a separate topic/ issue unrelated to how doctor interacts with the patient.

We have worked with Dr. Zimmermann for over a year now and he has consistently been a thoughtful, intelligent, informed, compassionate doctor who has explained everything to us with patience and clarity. Our sense is that he is well informed on all aspects of his field, and entertains questions with equanimity, whether they pertain to ideas or techniques he believes in or not. Although the system at Columbia can be a little challenging (it's difficult to get through on the phone if you have limited time), Dr. Zimmermann stands out for his combination of intelligence and warmth.

Dr. Zimmermann is conscientious, kind, intelligent, listens well, and has a very caring manner. He always has current information on treatments and practices, yet Ive never felt that hes making rash or overly experimental decisions; hes simply very responsible with staying current in his field. He diagnosed and treated a problem for me that I expected to become chronic. I followed his pharmaceutical, dietary, and lifestyle advice and the issue is no longer troublesome for me.He is busy, and scheduling appointments is by no means immediate, but he is very responsive if a problem occurs: he will call his patient to make an assessment and find an emergency appointment if needed. I have never felt more confidence in a doctor that I do in Dr. Zimmermann.
