Dr. Ralph Julio Baca, MD

Dr. Baca was impatient with me as an older adult with an acute phase of a chronic condition. He avoided contact with me for OVER 2 hours after I was admitted in the ED and finally when he did make contact and came over and introduced himself, said he had been consulting with the nurse and other medical people and knew what was happening to me. While I was waiting during those 2 + hours, Dr. Baca came over to each of 3 patients who were in the same area as me - they were each much younger than my 80 years. He introduced himself and had long conversations with each patient and was able to resolve their problems more quickly. My contacts were mainly with the LVNs and the aids who were very nice and caring. The nurse was efficient and helpful but not very available. In my opinion, I feel Dr. Baca could have acknowledged my presence early on and told me what was happening to me and what he planned to do to help me. I would have had less anxiety and felt safer. I did receive good medical… care while there and appreciated his medical knowledge - . I am commenting on Dr. Baca's social skills and need for more expression of respect and empathy for myself as an older adult and perhaps other seniors he encounters..
