Dr. Ralph R Parker, MD

I was very pleased with the outcome from Dr. Parker's repair of my inguinal hernia 2 weeks ago. He used the robotic-assisted laparoscopic method and just as he explained to me during our consultation prior to the surgery - it provided a very easy post-operative recovery. I'm really glad I went to Dr. Parker for my surgery, because besides being an obviously talented surgeon he provides great consultation, great pre and post operative care, and has a sincere concern for patient care. Candice and the office staff had the answers to my insurance questions, so the whole process moved smoothly. I will not hesitate to recommend Dr. Parker and his staff to my family and friends!

This is 2 reviews in 1 with 1 rating. The first is Dr Parker. I really like him. My consultation went great and I was ready to schedule the surgery after meeting with him. The second review is of his office staff person, Candace. She is much the opposite of Dr Parker. She was snarky with me when I was leaving about the directions I would receive from the hospital and when. She acted like I was bothering her with my stupid question. I scheduled my surgery for 2 weeks out after my consult with Dr Parker. The hospital called me the Monday afternoon at 4pm less than 48 hours BEFORE my surgery to tell me how much I would owe and what I needed to bring as well as the anesthesiologist information. Being we are at the end of the calendar year and how much it was going to cost me out of pocket (it is ALOT) I made the decision to hold off on the surgery until the beginning of Jan in order to fully leverage my deductible. This is where Candace's charm and customer service come in to play. I… called his office first thing Tuesday morning at 8:45am and left a message. I got a call back around noon and explained what I wanted to do. Candace says OK but that I owe $50 to reschedule because it's in the paperwork I signed that there is a 48 hour clause and that she spent a lot of her time and effort getting all the paperwork together and that's the way it is. I explained to her that had the hospital not called me within 48 hours of my surgery time to tell me my out of pocket costs that we wouldn't be in this situation and that I wanted to reschedule, not cancel. She said in a very condescending and sarcastic tone that when the hospital calls patients is not her problem. I told her I like Dr Parker and didn't want to cancel all together but if she wasn't going to take in to account that the hospital took 2 weeks to call me, after I asked her that exact question when I was in the office and she got snarky with me, that I would find another doctor. She again said that it was not her problem and I needed to pay the $50. I ended the phone call and did not pay or reschedule. Congrats, Candace. You cost Dr Parker about 8k over $50. You are very much a valued staff member I'm sure. I would strongly rethink visiting his office while she is there and dealing directly with patients.

First came the news, Melonona, my heart sank with the news. My head was spinning as I quickly began researching Doctors. What should I look for? What do I need? My dermatologist referred me to two surgeons, my friend suggested a third. My family Doctor suggested a fourth and my co-worker had one as well. Within a week I met with five Doctors. Although it was tiring I am thankful that I met with all of them and did not just go with the first one. Like the story of the three bears, one Doctor quickly set me up for several tests, procedures and surgery. One laughed and said just a quick cut is all I needed. Then I found the Doctor that was just right. Dr. Parker. From the moment I walked into the waiting room, I knew I was in good hands. At the desk, I met Candice. She was warm, professional, caring and encouraging. Then I met Dr. Parker. I was so confused and scared. During the consultation I could actually feel all my worries being lifted as he patiently described everything to me.… I never felt rushed, I felt like he was truly there for me. Of course all the Doctors had extensive background, but Dr Parker was also compassionate and caring. His 20+ years as a highly recommended Surgeon meant he had the skills, the compassion was a bonus. Surgery was scheduled for the following week. It was difficult to wait and questions kept popping in my head. Dr. Parker mentioned if I had any questions I should call him. Well, I did call, several times, and each and every time, he was there for me. If he was with a patient, he called me right after. Candice also helped calm my nerves. Everyone at the hospital was supportive, encouraging, and wonderful. They all spoke very highly of Dr. Parker as well. Surgery went well. I never felt any pain and healed quickly and my scars are smooth and almost pretty as they remind me to wear sunscreen. Yes, Dr. Parker is a fantastic Surgeon, but he is also a remarkable person. I feel so fortunate to have found him during my time of need.

Great doctor with outstanding bedside manner.

I chose Dr. Parker for removal of lipomas based on online reviews and the location of the office relative to me (different locations on different days). He was friendly, listened to my concerns, and conducted the procedure efficiently. He worked to ensure minimal scarring and was personable throughout the visit.

Does not stand behind his work is not a truthful person.

Like other reviews, I really liked the fact that Dr. Parker spent so much time explaining everything. He spent nearly an hour with me answering all my questions and put me at ease. (Nobody WANTS to see a surgeon!) :-) Surgery went as expected and the facility was top notch. Thank you!!

Like so many other reviews, I was very impressed with the amount of time he spent explaining my problem. I did not feel rushed and he answered all my questions. The procedure went smoothly and was exactly as he had described. And he is always punctual—a rare quality in physicians. Thanks so much!!

He performed an incredibly difficult surgery on me with a 10% mortality rate and due to his methods, I had absolutely no issues during my 6 month process/recovery.
