Found Dr. Chavali very rude and uncaring. Never came in to pre-op to explain the procedure and never saw me after the procedure because I was told he had to pick his son up. He never followed up with me and did not correct my problem.

Immediately understood the problem that everyone else warned me to leave alone even though it was closing my airway. He immediately explained the situation and tried to put me at ease. He reviewed all the prior tests and the imaging studies with me, some of which were from Israel where I also couldn't find anyone to treat me.He honestly assessed the situation and spent as much time as I needed to make me understand the issues.No pressure, genuinely interested to ensure that I understood a complicated problem. He explained that it was rare and that few have experience with the diagnosis and treatment, which I already knew. He wanted me to feel confident in his recommendations and even suggested that I consult other experts in major academic institutions (including Harvard) for independent corroboration of what he was advising.The treatment of my nasopharyngeal vascular malformation required three separate procedures. I now have no problems with breathing or sleeping and now my… obstructive sleep apnea is treated.

Dr. Chavali took time to talk and listen and after asking a few questions came to the correct diagnosis that others had missed. He fixed my injured blood vessel that was causing strokes that went on for 6 months before I met him.Explained the findings on the scans so that even I could understand and made me feel like it was important that I was part of the decision to treat.

Dr. Chavali is a gifted physician. He saw me when my brain aneurysm had been treated by surgery years earlier had recurred and no one else wanted to touch it because of the scarring and the complexity of its anatomy. From the minute we met, he was patient in listening to my problems and was interested in knowing why I thought I had a recurrence (others had never heard of my symptoms) which I experienced before the first rupture and now again several years later... He coiled the aneurysm and now follows me with excellent care. He has even given me his cell phone number to call in case of any worry.I have not had a doctor ever do this, and even take calls when he is on vacation.He is the best.
