Dr. Rami Edward Lutfi, MD

Dr. Lutfi performed my Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy in May of 2018. It’s now been nearly 8 months since my surgery and I’ve had no complications or set-backs. In fact, since beginning my weight loss journey, I’ve lost a total of 233 lbs. (151 lbs. since surgery). Dr. Lutfi and his staff have always been willing to take the time to address my concerns and answer my questions. For anyone out there considering bariatric surgery, I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Lutfi.

i am not an easy patient and i tend to have high standards which i always hope people can meet in the professional world. i also tend to dislike arrogant doctors who in the USA tend to overestimate themselves even when they are perfect incompetent idiots. bottom line: i wanted to have Bariatric Surgery performed on me and did a thorough research to find the best doctor in town (was paying out of pocket). i did make a research about Dr Lutfi twice, and twice the results were impeccable. at first, i wasnt too happy with his staff because i always had to chase them to get them to return phone calls and get me answers about my insurance coverage (which was only paying for my hernia). What you need to know is that Dr Lutfi is very young, so he talks to you like a friend, he jokes a lot and tends to simplify things for you. However you will notice that he is very focused & attentive at the same time. he never forgets to point out to you the very important things. i only realized his full… level of competence 2 weeks before my surgery. He has THE most restrictive Pre-op diet. i participate in an online forum where a lot of other patients wrote that their doctor gave them a much easier pre-op diet. i was very frustrated with this but then thought maybe this is part of Dr Lutfi's success. and i am glad i went through this diet because it prepared me very well for the surgery. His assistant/dietician did a marvelous job before my surgery to get me to complete all needed documents at the last minute, and was very supportive despite my stress. the surgery went perfectly well, the doctor called my husband right after to reassure him, and i spent 1 night at the hospital where i was monitored INCREDIBLY closely despite the fact that i only saw the doctor the next morning for a few minutes. i learned he was calling to inquire about his patients every now and then to check on every detail, including making sure that i am walking to release body gas!!! he paid attention to every single detail, and god knows how many things can occur as a result of such a surgery. i really felt in safe hands, and this is a VERY important thing for any patient. beside the pain i had for a few days in the stomach area, i didnt have ANY issues whatsoever. no vomitting, no nausea, no leaking, no nothing. i was back to work in 3 days. take it from me: go there with your eyes closed, he is the best.

Dr. Lutfi and his TEAM are excellent! They guide you through each step of the process and are available long after your procedure is done. I recommend them to anyone who is considering weight loss surgery.
