I'm an old USAF veteran, who just turned 70. Almost six months ago, I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. Yeah, I know: Big Uh Oh moment, that's for sure. But God took pity and sent Dr. Rami my way and I'm staying optimistic. That first day, Dr Rami (he is on a first name basis with many of his colleagues, thus so am I) bent before me, took my hands and said: "Don't think you have one year, two years or even five, to live. You may have ten or more and we will try everything." What a confidence builder, huh?

I have rarely met a physician that will take extra time to make sure all of you is being cared for; not just your disease. Dr. Sarid takes care of your cancer, but he takes care of the little things too. For example, he makes sure we have a social worker we call, psychiatrist and clergy are all in his resources to share. He personally makes sure we have transportation to our treatments. I could go on but I'm sure you have the idea. Many people complain about the care at the Phoenix Veteran's Hospital. My experience is that Dr. Sarid and others are what you would expect in a good physician and more. They don't miss a thing and I don't think I'm the only one getting this high level of care. Thanks Dr. Sarid, we will beat this cancer thing.
