Dr. Ramiro Guillen, MD

I wish I would have read his reviews before going to see him. On my first visit I thought went well he asked a few questions and quickly said I had depression and some bi polar issues. The things he was saying made sense. He gave me a prescription and off I went. 2nd visit was the complete opposite. He didn't even seem to remember that I met with him. He didn't know why I was seeing him. All he could do is read what little notes he had taken as he said he didn't do the dictation for my visit. Huh? I told him I was still having issues and he told me I was just fine but upped the dosage. Which to me means he knows I am not fine. Then he proceeded to send me to have blood work done. Um, if I need blood work why did you wait till the second visit? He didn't like being questioned. Then when I asked (several times) to get my records he kept telling me that the dictation was not done (this 6 weeks later) and he would get them to me when he wants to. I explained why I needed them and… his response was so ??. Wait what? He literally gave me the "I don't care" gesture. He doesn't talk with compassion. He just wants a quick diagnosis and his attitude is then GTF out of my sight attitude. I am at his mercy now waiting for him so I can move forward with my treatment elsewhere. I am not sure what to do at this point. He is supposed to be helping me and not adding to my disposition.

I would give this office five stars because of their professionalism and empathy. It was easy to schedule an appointment and only had to wait a few weeks. There is a lot of paperwork for the first visit - FYI. They make confirmation calls and emails for every appointment which helps me not to forget. Doctor G makes me feel comfortable with the medication he's prescribing. He's easy to talk to and his voice is calming and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this office.

I initially made an appointment to try an anti-depressant for anxiety related to PTSD. The first visit went okay and I tried the anti-depressant he recommended but it didn't work. The second visit I told him it didn't work and that I had stopped taking it. I expected him to recommended a different drug that might better treat anxiety. Instead he told me I had PTSD and therefore would never get over my nonexistent "depression" and go into "remission" from my apparently cancerous PTSD unless I took an anti-depressant. There's more, but that's the low light. He couldn't even remember what he was treating me for but still made thought he had the right to make a negative prediction about my future mental health. I wouldn't trust a word he says.

He simply drugged me up. I am currently suffering the repercussions of being on so many anti-psychotics that I'm having neurological issues. When I told him my eating disorder came back and that I dropped 20 pounds, he said not to worry, because I was "a healthy weight." When I went back a month later and had dropped even MORE weight (visibly!) he said nothing and not to worry about it. I tried getting help for my problems, and on top of the problems I've already had since childhood, I've had new ones; they're physical and mental. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This is a great office in Scottsdale. I had a great first impression and felt comfortable scheduling. I had wanted to see a female doctor, but scheduled with Dr. Guillen for post pardon depression; he was able to manage my care well and be understanding and caring (considering he is a male). The Office Manager, Mel is very professional and informative. She spent the time to answer all of my questions and I felt comfortable. Great staff, efficient and happy. They are pretty girls! My appointment was quicker than I thought it would be, but it didn't take away from the care received. If I didn't live in the area, I would definitely drive a lot longer to still see him. I have and will continue to recommend this office and doctor!

Dr. Guillen is an excellent doctor. Being a female in my late 20's, I felt extremely comfortable with him and I felt he understood me and my diagnosis. He started me on a medication I was comfortable with and answered all questions I had. The girls at the front are so friendly and always answer the phone. I love this office and would definintely recommend to friends or families with children.

I had been seeing Dr Guillen for a LONG time, after going from one COLD phychiatrist to the next.. Now I was going through a very hard time and the doctor was rude seemed to only care about medication and just seem like it was be being young to blame for all my problems- after reading reviews I notice that other young patients may feel the same. If you are looking for someone warm- this is not it.

When I called for an appointment it was out a few weeks. The girls at the front desk called me because I was on the cancellation list and I got in the next day! Dr. Guillen was very friendly and I felt he cared about my specific care and situation. They always call to remind me of appointments and so so friendly! Would recommend!

I recently saw Dr. Guillen for the first time and was impressed. The girls at the front desk are friendly. Dr. Guillen takes the time to listen to how I've been dealing with my depression and anxiety and I feel I'm receiving good, quality care. I'm thankful for such a wonderful doctor! Would definitely recommend.

I was really impressed with Dr. Guillen. I felt like he offered real solutions to my problems. He really "treated" my ADHD. lol. Awesome! Great staff too! They always call to remind you! (Great for ppl with ADHD!)
