Dr. Ray Alvarez, MD

Went to see Dr. Alvarez for the first time for a knee problem. Very patient, attentive and knowledgeable. He's professional and human at the same time. I would recommend him with no hesitation.The staff was very nice and professional as well. Thank you Dr. Alvarez.

Dr. Alvarez gave me the shots I needed for back pain and it worked. My pain was subdued and I had a great experience. I have been to Dr. Alvarez numerous times and I am extremely happy with him. I would recommend him to anybody.

I have had chronic pain for 10 years. My primary Dr recommended Dr. Alvarez but I was nervous with everything going on with pain medicine. I went in to see him he was very personable, kind, understanding, funny and gave me options of what needed to be done, he didnt tell me. I felt comfortable asking for a refill of my light pain medicine. Everyone I have dealt with has been great and understanding. I am so happy I am with this Dr. I dont feel I am being pushed into anything and I am given different options. I feel he and his staff really do care. Thank GOD I may 1 day be out of chronic pain.

I was referred to Dr. Alvarez by my doctor who could no longer take care of my pain management. I spoke with the staff several times about the "new patient" information. I was told that with my insurance...not Obama care..but private. My costs would be 400.00. 50.00 office visit and 350.00 for blood work(charged my insurance 700.00) When I asked what they could possibly charge 700.00 for and that it sounded like another way to legalize a pill mill. I asked for an exact break down of the charge and was told I would get it at the appointment but they would be charging me that every three months! I had all my MRI, Xray, blood work from 4 orthopedic doctors as recently as the month before. When I went in the staff was very short and not friendly. I saw Dr. Alvarez for 5 minutes tops. Nice man but just said how screwed up my injury was and wrote a prescription. NO Xray, NO MRI, NO blood work. I was told to pee in a cup before they would release my prescription. I did NOT get… what they were testing me for @700.00 every 3 months. Within 3 weeks I received a bill for the 400.00 that my insurance did not cover. The next day I got a bill from a Dr. Battaglia, whom I never spoke to , saw or heard from for 3,515.00!!!! I called the next day as there must have been a mistake in billing.... NO they want to charge almost 5,000.00 every three months for pain management and all I did was pee in a cup!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND STAFF!

I had the best pain management experience with Dr. Ray Alvarez then any other pain management doctors that I have ever dealt with. He was extremely caring, compassionate, kind, and great at what he does. If I still lived in FL, I'd immediately go back to Dr. Alvarez. No other pain mgmt doctor has compared or come close.

very unprofessional office staff. never return calls. perform wrong surgical procedures. never get to meet with doctor- always nurse practioner! i personally don't think(the np) they are qualified to diagnose, decide what procedure is to be used, etc.

Dr. Alvarez will happily get you dependent on narcotics but then refuses to submit any prior authorization paperwork with an insurance company. He makes you sign dozens of legal documents but does not tell his patients that his policy is to leave them addicted with a script they can't fill. There is a reason several pharmacists have told me this guy is a shyster.

I have been under the care of Dr. Alvarez for the past 6 or 7 years and I really like the way he interacts with me and his bedside manners. I will recommend him to other patients.

Dr. Alvarez was recommended by my surgeon to see prior to surgery. Although Dr. Alvarez is a very nice man, he is not very good at what he does. The first time I met him was in the OR to do an epidural. The second time was also in the OR for an epidural. I couldn't get an office appointment with him until after 3 OR epidurals. At my office visit, he didn't know who I was or why I was there to see him. He kept scheduling me for epidurals even tho they were not much help. I found out later why they were not helping - he was putting them in the wrong place and not using enough medicine!His office looks like a junkie hangout.Disorganized, not professional, you are a number (if that) and not a person. As you can tell, my experience was not a good one with this doctor, I'm very sorry to say.
